Do not stay at this hostel. staff were very ignorant and ignored us. We also booked a double room and were then shown to a dorm room after paying for our double. The staff member tried to convince us that it was a double just with 4 other bunk beds. Would not recommend this place.Do not stay at this hostel. staff were very ignorant and ignored us. Right in the centre and nice Indian restaurant next door where you get really nice $10 curry if you say your staying at Base. Great hostel, right in the centre of he city. Staff was helpful. The building is old, and it shows in certain places, but that gives it more charm than makes it uncomfortable. Fantastic! I have stayed in alot of hostels in my time and wasn't expecting much for something so reasonably priced in such a good location. Definitely be visiting the Base christchurch again.
