don't be miserable and dictatorial at reception at check in. loosen up with the rigidity of the kitchen menu, people would love just a bacon sandwich or a bowl of chips. charge less at the kitchen, $8 for a base brekky was astronomical. sort out the camp kitchen, it's disgusting. sort out the toilets & showers, equally disgusting. fix the air cons. but on a positive, keep employing such friendly staff! (like Albie!)

Good overall standard. One thumb too many in bar/kitchen service, but very friendly and helpfull. I loved the veiw from our cabin! This place is LOUD; we chose Base for this reason and got what we bargained for. Excellent place for young backpackers who look to get to know people. Walking distance to supermarket and public BBQ area!

The staff weren't very helpful, told us conflicting information about the island & the beds were old and creaky and looked like they were gonna fall apart, in 102 anyway. Very disappointed only stayed 1 night and spent 3 more in koala village.

I really enjoyed my stay at Base but the reception staff made it uncomfortable to ask questions. I found them VERY rude and not approachable. The rest of the staff were so friendly espically the american dive instructor. However I would not stay again because of the reception staff. The pool and beach access is really good and the hamocks are great fun. I would recomed it to anyone who doesn't mind being talked to like dirt by the reception staff. They were unhelpful and stuck up. Otherwise Good

I had a good time at base, the entertainment at night is fun. Right on the beach, nice rooms but small. Just make sure you remember to grab your booze when you leave!! I forgot mine :(

Music was very loud at night so impossible to sleep until after midnight. Music in the bar area all day seemed unnecessary - just wanted to enjoy the location rather than having music blaring out constantly .

We stayed here for 5 nights in the sanctuary. It isn't really a sanctuary more like a tin porta cabin which is a bit of a shame when all the other rooms are nice wooden cabins, but we did get a nice fluffy towel, one free breakfast and 30 mins of free Internet an free champagne between 6 and 7 every night which is cool. Hammocks and grass area are really nice but kitchen is really gritty with only half the hob working, no microwave or oven and ants everywhere.
