Room without window. Terribly hot that day it was 30 degrees C. A fan was constant running so very noisy at night. This room was specially for disabled people because bathroom was completely designed for. Scandal to put disabled people in such à room.

The location is very central but definitely the party location and bring ear plugs do drown out the sound of the bar downstairs.

Great hostel in the center of Queenstown. Bar underneath has good deals for people staying there but it wasn't too busy the night we stayed. Staff were nice enough and the hostel was pretty quiet by the time we got to bed. Base Backpackers are party hostels though so be prepared for a bit of noise if you stay here.

Stayed 3 nights, they had great deals in bar next door with $5 jagerbombs, free activity everyday for guests including frisbee golf & had special discounts for most activities in Queenstown

The only thing I really disliked were the showers, but I guess it is a good way to save water since it automatically stops every 8 seconds and you have to push the button again.

If you want to sleep, it is not a place for you. The music of the bar resounds in rooms (the bar it's nice), but that with ear plugscould be ok. No the worst I believe that it is in the corridor, that takes place with complete impunity. People knock in the door, speak loudly, laugh, run. I like party, but I respect the others.

location and drink specials at the bar are unbeatable. showers are my only complaint, having to hold that button down and the water never getting quite warm enough was annoying. other than that will gladly stay again

Really liked my stay in this hostel, it was really good fun there! The staff at the desk were brilliant for helping book bungees and other fun stuff, the staff doing reservatinons weren't as friendly though. The internet is a rip-off, there should be free wi-fi!! Also the bathrooms weren't always clean but in saying that they weren't too bad, I think there was just a lot of traffic going through them!

Party hostel so noisy but the rooms are clean and comfortable, Bathrooms adjoining each dorm are clean and functional. Push button showers could run a little longer on each push but hardly a big problem. Good location, good travel desk. Free breakfast if you book through hostelworld. No free breakfast if you end up here through NakedBus/NakedBeds. Bring earplugs if you're not a party animal and you should be fine.

Great dorm rooms with cool little features, like a room fridge and separate lights for each bunk, and all the facilities you'd expect from a big brand like Base. Unfortunately the staff were a bit cold, I guess you're not allowed to crack jokes about Mike Tindall (Altitude is the hostel bar). Also they were pretty useless at sorting out nuisances, like kids screaming up 'Oh man, I'm so drunk' while running up and down the corridors at 4am. Try harder Base.

Great hostel. Lots to do. The bar next door is pretty good fun. Very easy to meet other travellers. I would consider staying here again when we return to Queenstown.
