Base, obviously being a well-known backpackers knows how to provide a good standard of accomodation. The environment can sometimes be a little sterile and the atmosphere varies on a day-to-day basis purely depending on the people who are staying there. The hostel is a little big for me, and this makes interaction with guests a little harder than at smaller hostels. There are a lack of powerpoints in the rooms as well. Toilet and shower facilities are clean and staff are really friendly!

Had a great visit! We ended up getting upgraded to our own room and had our own bathroom (no extra charge). Its a great hostel if you are lookin for a very central location for the shopping and bar scene. Not a great place to get a lot of sleep. But again, great for a fun weekend.

Very disappointing. Room was dark, had a smell and was barely lit up by one light.

It was good apart from the fact we had a sealed window! We couldn't open it and it was hot and stuffy. We did get a fan that needed to be on full all night but it was noisy. Because the window was sealed up the room was so dark lacking any natural light and when we woke up at 8am it felt like 4am in the morning.

Seriously unclean. Private en suite. Bathroom stank of bleach which actually spread into the room. Sheets and bed clothes were covered in stains. The whole place in general had a bad odour to it. Only up side is its location, slap in the middle of everything.

Very clean and nice hostel. Staff was so helpful, especially at the travel desk. Beds were also nice and cozy. All around, good stay and would highly recommend!

Hostel was a bit small on facilities for the people housed. Good vibe but 9pm stop for kitchen/drinking a bit of a drag. All else was fine & no probs :)

Really enjoyed my stay here. Was a bit apprehensive at first due to the reputation, but was pleasantly surprised! Met some cool people, everyone was really friendly, the hostel and rooms were comfy and clean and the staff were great too. Would happily stay here again!
