Staff were fantastic, very helpful and easily approachable. The bar next door is nice but confusing as to whether it is attached to the hostel or not. The noise aspect was a little off putting as an open venue the noise was relatively loud in the hostel. We were also there the same night as a staff fairwell, was great to see staff that care for each other but taking over the bar for a long period of time resulted in a few people leaving including us.

the first room they gave us was very dirty and smell very bad. we ask to have another room and they were not kind at all when we ask to change the bedroom. i would not go back to stay in this place. On my trip I found better options and more clean.

In my opinion this was a basic hostel with very basic rooms. Not a lot of atmosphere. But what was annoying is that there was a strange smell in my room and my friends had a window/door that couldn't close and they also found some cockroaches. Also the warm shower didn't last long as it happened that the second person taking a shower was suddenly not getting hot water anymore. You would maybe expect this in Asia or South America but not in New Zealand.

Clean hostel in a good location...the rooms where really big with huge bathroom/toilet. Only downfall a bit on the noisy side being next to the bar. But overall would stay again.

Pretty cheap for what we got, very nice.
