The staff was kind, also not always available. The doors where all locked with cards, but I panicked often because it takes some attempts untill they worked. It is easy to get to town there and the free luggage storage is great. However the kitchen equipment is poor. There were only 3 forks in the whole kitchen!

The kitchen needed a lot of stuff, there was no cutlery, one frying pan, one chopping board, ect.

Staff not really happy. They should smile more often. I am so upset with Base hostels. I Will never use them again. The bars are so noisy. Your company does not respect all customers. We need to sleep. The other day I was in Taupo, and again the music till 3am in the morning. It was umbearable. If young people want to party while they are on holiday that is cool for me but You should close the bar's doors and play the music not that loud!!!!

Distinctly average. Large, impersonal hostel. Decent sized dorms but kitchen very poorly equipped, bar promotions failed to materialise. Well located within Rotorua.

Comfy and clean Rooms, great size 8 bed dorms unlike all of the other base hostels we have stayed in. The pool is lovely to hang around on a hot sunny day! Staff very friendly. Handy having the Lava Bar next door for cheap drinks but if your room looks out over the bar deck then it can get really noisy. Other than that fab hostel!

loved this hostel, great pool, great location and the lava bar next door is cool to meet people and gets realy busy. would definately stay again!

Just because I am a Budget Traveller I dont want to sleep under spiderwebs and be awake all night beacuase of the loud music from next door's Lava Bar. Sorry guys, but I really think you should at least starting to clean properly
