Very good atmosphere,great nightlife and prices at bar were very reasonable and they had v good offers on food every day.Staff were excellent and very helpfull,only flipside was the price 40 dollars a night when sharing with 7 people is a bit steep but it was also the week of the oz open tennis so wud hope that it wud be cheaper when thats over.

Best hostel I ever has entred!

Rooms were very good, with ensuite bathroom and lockers under the beds. Good size kitchen and common room with a TV. Lively bar with entertainment each night of the week. Definatley worth it for the the party goer

Space to hang laundry to dry in the rooms and more electrical outlets would be appreciated, but otherwise a very pleasant stay. The tour booking desk staff are excellent at finding good deals, even for companies like Greyhound.

Good location. Drinks are expensive in the main bar at Base. When you stay at this hostel, you'll pay for everything. If you're not looking to party, do not pick this hostel as it's like living in a niteclub. People banging on doors 24/7 and making noise. The place is very 'clicky' , as in everyone has their own group they hang around with. Staff are super friendly and very helpful.

I would really like to thank the staff, they were really helpful and cheerful, it makes such a difference, a very refreshing change! Definitely the best staff I have encountered in Australia.

The music went unlit 3 am and I couldn't sleep until then. I got up at 7:30 and had a cold shower. I heard later that the hot water system had broken. Apart from that - brilliant!

Thought I was in for a few sleepless nights in a hostel with a reputation for party but was surprised by how sound proof the rooms were! The Sanctuary was V comfortable.

Perfect hostel to get to know people traveling or doing work&travel in this area. Near the beach and not far away from town. Many bars around... WLAN v expensive!

A good hostel, though a little on the pricey side.

The staff were exceptionally rude. Very unhelpful, unprofessional and spoke to us in a condescending manner. You could tell this hostel was out to make money. Once you paid and checked in they stopped caring. They spilt us up even though we booked a room for five girls. Much unnecessary drama could have been avoided had they kept us together. They put us in rooms with long-term residents who were also very rude and had superior attitudes towards us. AWFUL.

The hostel is to big. The bar is wicked and prices are alright. I met some cool people.
