Location is great and to be honest the hostel is pretty safe. BUT reception is always busy. First day my friend and i arrived, we had to wait forever to check-in and they had some issues with our booking. Couldn\'t put us in the same room for days. Then we had to change rooms 3 times the same week.

Very Good location, next to town hall, right in the center of the City. Mostly unfriendly staff, atmosphere ok.

i hated my time at this hostel, the staff are unhelpful and incompotent, i paid via this website for an 11am check in, but was refused access until 2pm, unsure how it takes them from 10am to 2pm to swap bedsheets. alcohol is not anywhere on premises kitchen is locked at night which is annoying as i work earlys so no breakfast my room of 8 had no sockets what so ever the facilites are ok though and the building is clean, just doesnt feel at all homely, i could right more but have run out of spac

Overpriced. Staff is overwhelmed. This hostel sits next door to a party bar, and the base could be felt/heard in te room.

I loved staying here. It's great for anyone who wants to party. The scary canary next door is an awesome bar

a litte difficult to find here. although it was a huge building, people in the street didn't knew here. not calm, peaceful, but active. if you choose a female only room, the alchol and breakfast voucher can be given

Good location right next to Darling Harbour and near the main shopping areas. Not to far to walk to the opera house and harbour bridge. Helpful staff and good deals on attractions. nice hostel

I had a great stay, the staff were helpful and friendly and the hostel was clean. The location is exellent well worth the money.

Nice place, well located. Although key cards frequently stopped working which meant you were forever going back to reception to get them reprogrammed. The worst part of Base Sydney was the reception desk, there was always a que with not enough staff on so you would que for up to 30 mins at a time. When all you wanted to do was purchase internet time or ask for your mail this was annoying beyond belief.

The staff was very nice and always helping out... The point is that there was not enough people at the reception at any time! Lines in front of the reception a usual picture and really anoying...

A excellent choice if you are staying in Sydney for a couple of days. Clean rooms and friendly staff. Good location to.

The bathroom is just filtfty. I can stand it, but i won't stay for long there

This was a bad experience for my friend and I considering the reviews we read on line. The only thing that you have going for you is the location. That is it. The staff are the worst part. Not friendly, Not helpful and overall rude.

When we got there the toilet was knocked over. Talk about disgusting. Also there was no soap in the bathroom
