really friendly and helpful staff! perfect location - so close to the lake. a bit loud during the night because of the bar in the hostel

Good location and decent rooms, but this is a party hostel in the middle of town, with the bar across the street and the bar downstairs noisy till late, and then with rowdy young backpackers coming back to their rooms a little worse for wear, you'll be lucky to get any sleep before 4am. So not the best if you have an early start. Parking is also difficult. The hostel is however in the middle of town and the rooms are decent.

Great location, very helpful staff when I wanted to book in my activities for Taupo, room was nice and clean and loved the parties in the bar!

Was not impressed with this hostel,it lacked in atmosphere and was not particularly clean. The kitchen was always a mess and our room needed a good vacuum - there were still earplugs and rubbish in the corner of room from previous guests.We also had to empty our own bin during our stay. Staff were preoccupied with promoting the bar and attempting to make it a party hostel but that didn't seem to be going too well for them. It's right across the road from noisey late bar so don't expect to sleep!

Awful place to stay. Tiny rooms, kitchen is revolting all the time. Only 4 forks in the entire kitchen, very little else. Staff were unhelpful. Overall a disgusting hostel- would not recommend.

A good stay but the noise from across the street is in fact ridiculous. It's a great central location, but the noise from the Irish pub went on till the early hours making it impossible to sleep!
