The room I stayed in had no curtains, so despite my 4 hours sleep, once the sun was up, I pretty much had to get up as the fan just didn't cut it and it was way too bright to sleep.

Amazing service, good location and very good for your money. I was a bit nervous to go with a chained hostel, but not disappointed! Top Marks!

Mixed bag. A sucky layout with a very isolated atmosphere was a negative. Cleaning could also be improved. The whole hostel could do with a re-vamp. Everything else was satisfactory or better.

Hostel is loud almost every night of the week because the kiwi experience kids stay here. the kitchen is a disaster and the because the backpackers are so young, most of them are annoying. while i liked the other base hostels around NZ, this one sucks. do yourself a favor and stay at nomads or yha in wellington, and if you want to party, there are plenty of great bars around.

Nice hostel in central Wellington. They made a mistake with my booking but were friendly and did what they could to rectify the problem. Good kitchen space although the chill out areas could be improved. Lifts were not always working during our time there.

Hostel was just ok - very big and bathrooms/showers were not clean. Rooms were good for a short stay. Location was pretty good. Night staff were not friendly when we checked in.

This hostel is located perfectly within the Wellington City centre as EVERYTHING is in perfect walking distance. The staff were really friendly and managed to help book trips and ferries for me. The bar in the basement provided plenty of entertainment from the staff, who looked like they were having just as much fun as their customers, and drinks were great value for money. Rooms were well sized for their price and all facilities catered for. Overall one of my best hostel experiences!

I was in one of the double rooms for a night, and the room was very clean, bed was comfortable and because I was located on the 8th floor, it had a great view of the harbour.

the location was good, the staff was nice but its a totally dry hostel, no alcohol what so ever so if you want a drink you gotta go out, which is quite expensive in newzealand.

No security at all for who enters the building. I was with my notebook at the lobby and this very dodgy guy came from the street and was looking around... It was very weird because he didnt go to the reception at all... It seemed he was just waiting for an opportunity to steal from someone. I grabbed all of my stuff and decided to go upstairs... Night guy at reception was really nice. Morning girls at reception wore pretty grumpy... But its a good hostel. Very good location.

Kitchen is way too small for a hostel of this size. Other than that, had a good stay in the centre of Welly.

Great location right next to Embassy Theatre. Facilities would be great if they were updated and more modern looking. However, you definitely get what you paid for.

I was given a bunk that you couldn't safely access from the ground at all - the ladder was against the wall and you had to climb from a chair over a high siderail - I was unwell & physically couldn't get into the bed, the staff merely suggested swapping with someone else in my room and offered no other help. Kitchen was filthy & there were people playing soccer inside in the dining room one night. I expected a bit of noise as it's the centre of the downtown but really, bring your earplugs!

So far the worst hostel I've stayed in NZ. Female staff at the reception were grumpy and unhelpful. Room was small and smelled really bad, you couldn't open a window, because "yeah, we know, we should fix it". During my one week stay, my bed was taken by other new guests three times as the room was overbooked. It seemed that the staff had no idea who were allocated to this room. Kitchen was small and appliances broken. Only good thing was location, but there are others around the corner.
