the lift worked badly. No phones in the room so to make a complaint about the jerk kicking in the door to his room and abusing his girlfriend I would have had to walk past him and then wait another 10 minutes for the lift to actually find the correct floor. My sister and I booked a room with twin beds but got a room with a double bed.

They mixed up our rooms so we had to relocate one of our group to another room at midnight, depsite telling the reception people when we checked in that there weren't enough beds for us in the room they had given us

Bad or totally missing ventilation at our room (515). Being a room without any windows this is not a good idea.

Overall I enjoyed staying at Base, although the room/ensuite is in need of a little upkeep. The shower door was broken and the tap on the sink was very loose and water went everywhere! I was disappointed to discover our room got cleaned once but we didn't receive any fresh linen or toilet paper. Luckily we had enough to last our trip. I did read on the internet this is a daily service. The security was good and we enjoyed the cheap drinks at the bar. Staff could do with a 'pick me up'.

I loved the location cause it was very close to Vector Arena but we had problems with the people in the room next to us, they were yelling out the window/door all night and had there tv on very load.

There was, what appeared to be, pubic hair still in the shower cubicle, both on the floor of the shower and up the wall. Also a strange brown substance in the corner that may, or may not have been fecal matter was visible as well, telling me that either the shower wasnt cleaned at all or, at best, very quickly.

An Ok hostel. The facilities and cleanliness were good. However, the staff didn't seem friendly. There was no breakfast being served the day I was there, despite all the posters around advertising breakfast. It was also quite noisy.

Great place to stay, the breakfast was good value and the facilities were excellent. As an over fifty did not feel out of place, really enjoyed our stay.

Save your money, dont go here. The staff are rude & unhelpful, one in particular on reception who made you feel like you were inconveniencing her. The rooms are cramped & noisy. Overpriced luggage storage. The list goes on!!   Read Owner Comments
