It's just too bad that when one room deceids to party everynight ruining everyone else's nights three nights in a row, reception doesn't care about it. Even after a stranger busted into someone else's room. Sad

we stayed on the 2nd floor above the bar. it was way too loud even with ear plugs. when we arrived, the room had someone elses stuff in it and was not fully cleaned.

I generally like Base hostels, but there was no lounge while I was there, the kitchen wasn't great, not much table space even after the refurb. The bathrooms were not that clean and there were no shelves in the showers to put stuff on. Our room displayed a "Fire regulations - no more than 4 people in this room" sticker, but 6 beds in there. The beds were very comfy and it's nice to have a properly made up bed. The reception girls were excellent, however. I would try again.

Base is cool but i had problems. i booked online for april 25th. it was charged to my card a month earlier. i had to ring the hostel to sort things out. i put on the website that i'd check in at 1 am on the 25th. when i got there i was told that actually meant 1 am on saturday morning and i had to get another room for the night. probably should be noted on hostel world. had some key troubles at the hostel. key wouldn't work on the stair door, stopped working on my room door, etc.

The place could use some new paint on the walls and new carpet in some areas. The hostel wasn't as good as in Queenstown, NZ.

Great hostel and enjoyed my stay however one of the showers in the ladies bathroom on the 4th floor was blocked and full of water and was like that for 3 days! Some staff on the reception desk didn't seem that efficient but perhaps they were new and still in training. Apart from those few things everything was wonderful!

The hostel was good, the staff were excellent and the rooms wer clean and modern. The facilities whilst ok since visiting other hostel could do with being updating.

Only one tap worked and it was only a dribble of water, which was the same for the showers. It was noisy with first time youngster travellers everywhere.
