The dorm rooms are very spacious, and well laid out, so it feels like you have privacy and space to yourself even in a room full of strangers. It's not a long walk to the main train station, and two trams run within a block that will take you straight to the old part of town, so the location is excellent. The staff were very friendly, and the cleaning staff were very thorough.

This place is a typical YHA boring, expensive and not worth the money. We asked if could please have a glass of water with dinner and the response was "you will have to purchase a bottle". Very good breakfast but that is all.

The Basel Back Pack is a clean, conveniently located hostel (only about a ten/fifteen minute walk from the main train station). The staff were helpful, especially with transportation issues. The inclusion of a transportation card with your stay was another added perk. I would definitely stay here again.

Not so good location, but the free public transport card they give you makes it up to you. Good feathre that they have breakfast included, because otherwise is at least 10 CHF worth of breakfast, even in the supermarket. Definitely would go back in this hostel if I ever come back to Basel.

The hostel had nice rooms, and was clean. There was a nice hang out spot and kitchen. The location is a bit out of the way if you are unfamiliar with the trams in town it is about a 10 minute walk. I would stay there again.

it's close to the train station, but no door to door trams or bus...so by walking, it took me 10 minutes..btw, if you are the first time travel in Switezerland, you'd better consider bring an adapter with you.. the German ones don't work here...

This hostel is based in a really cool converted factory, near the train station and within easy reach of the city centre. Your overnight stay includes a 24 transport ticket for trams etc that is really useful, and the guys on reception are very friendly -a great chilled hostel.

Awesome hostel! In an old warehouse next to a micobrewery. Even in the winter (offseason) there is stuff to do. Basel is full of cool art and people. Hostel bar is expensive but just go grab beers from the shop--they don't care. Beds are good and well designed, rooms+lockers are huge, tons of showers. A really good hostel. It IS expensive but hey so is Switzerland, this is by far the best value for your money!

Overall is great. But some unconsidered visitors talked so loudly at the pantry late at the nite.

We stay in the double bed room under the Guesthouse category. It was clean, quiet (we stay here Sat & Sun nites, which most shops closed). The staff is very friendly, well organized and effective. They give all necessary information upon check in (unlike others, need to ask for it). Internet was fast and kitchen well equipped.

Its very well located for public transport (which is free when you stay). The building is really cool and the other companies occuping the same location are also of interest. Great staff All round a good place to stay in Basel

BAsel Back PAck is an excellent place for expend your time, It is on a good place and the personal is fantastic. You can arrive there on a train in only 5 minutes since the station, or if you prefer walk, you will be there on 10 minutes. The Cleanliness is so good. The bathroom and the rooms are clear all the days at the morning and you dont feel any dirty place like other sites. I liked so much! I could go back soon!

Really pleased with our stay. However, it would be better if there is reception 24/7 but at least from 9 am to late each day. Ken Wong
