Great hostel just 10 minute walk from the train station, staff are friendly and helpful with info on what bars and restaurants to visit. Not the most social hostel i\'ve stayed in with small common areas but i think its a similar case in all the Basel hostels. Basel Back Pack was lovely to stay in. Very clean and bright with good showers and a nice kitchen. Very closew to the tram which took us into central Basel. We only met 2 members of staff at the reception desk, but they were very helpful, recommending resteraunts to suit our needs and lending us swiss adaptors! Basel Back Pack was lovely to stay in. The character is simply perfect. The hostel is situated in the area of an old factory, I\'ve never been in such a stylish location. The staff is helpful, gentle and relaxed. You can reach the city centre in just 10 minutes by the tram. There are some possibilities to eat in the area, and to buy cheaper beer etc. There\'s also a great kitchen with everthing you need to cook a non-expensive-swiss-menue. The rooms were okay, everything was clean. This is a very good hostel!!The character is simply perfect. They need to create some atmoshere at the bar in the evenings and also drop the price of their drinks. They wont get people to drink at their bar when for the same price you can get pub atmoshere in the city. Apart from that, it is a nice hostel that has a lot of potential.
