This hostel was bit hard to find, but worth finding! It is in a great location, surrounded by nice restaurants and bars. The staff was extremely nice, and each traveler gets his or her own locker in the room, which made the hosteling experience so much more comfortable. Basel is a great city and I highly recommend the Basel Back Pack for your stay!

when i arrived there, the staff gave everything i need for basel, including an public bus card. so aprreciate it. the building is a little old, and there are two beds together,,, it took me a little time to decide to live on one of them. anyhow, if there are lots of guests, i have to end in sleeping with an stranger. but luckily, that didn't happen

Jazz festival after midnight is just noisy and room is so stinky and hot and humid. If you open the window, you will get more noise from the street. Additionally breakfast is not worth to 8 CHF and no one has take it ,because it's just bread lol 8 CHF will give you more nice meals at supermarket at the main station. So this hostel is obviously only for the money making, even if I am kind of the people like I just wanna get sleep easy. If you like partying so late, stay herel. But otherwise, No!

Very nice staff, friendly and helpful. Free ticket for public transports was given on the check in. Big lockers on the bedrooms (big enough for the suitcase). The hostel is located in a quiet place. Some of the beds in the 8 persons room are very big.... If you are lucky you'll get one of those.

We had a very pleasant stay. The staff were very helpful and went out of their way to help us find out the best mountains to visit etc. The inclusive tram ticket was also very useful and allowed us to explore Basel very thoroughly. We will definately stay at Basel Back Pack again next time we visit Basel. Thank you very much.

Awesome hostel!!! The rooms are very comfortable and the bathrooms/showers are very nice. They also provide you with travel passes for Basel for the days that you are going to be staying, meaning you can use the public transport system (tram and bus) for free.
