This is a really good hostel - one of the best i have stayed in - has a really close, family feel about it - more like a flatshare than a hostel. It's in a really great location with brilliant showers and new beds with really comfy mattresses. This hostel is not usually very busy either which means if you want a quieter time it is ideal. Staff are lovely and helpful.

I really enjoyed my stay at Bath Backpackers. The location was perfect, close to main sights and pubs. Staff was very multicultural and friendly. About previous comments about dirty sheets: actually the staff spends a lot of time changing them for you! You never know with whom you will share the room, so it's a wonderful opportunity to meet new people. Those who love privacy can choose a smaller room. The kitchen was big and fully equipped. What is more, unlike in many hostels, wifi was FREE!

I booked this pretty last minute and didnt read the reviews until after. It wasnt so bad. The staff were a little hard to understand at times and seemed to have their own social group going on but apart from that they still told me where the supermarket was which was helpful. The party dungeon wasnt so partying. The people in my room were friendly and we all went out together for drinks. Price and location were great. The lockers could be improved in no.'s & size

It is in good location, only a few minutes from the railway station and Roman Bath, and it is clean.

In this backpacker you get what you pay for. it is an excellent, cheap hostel. great if you are watching costs. I found the showers to be rather abysmal and hostel rules ignored pretty much every night of my four night stay without discipline.

The staff didn't seem interested or that fluent in English. Lightbulbs needed replacing in the dorm and lounge. Dorm curtains inadequate to keep heat in room. Lounge had a permanent cold breeze from kitchen window. Staff took over lounge each evening to watch football. If you just want somewhere to sleep, it is close to the station and cheap enough.

It was extremely noisy during the night. Someone was knocking on a door for at least an hour... It was disturbing I couldn't sleep because of this. The hostel was quite nice though. The staff was kind, the room and toilets were clean and tidy.

Not very impressed that the sheets were not clean - only given a clean pillow case.

The staff are horrendous!!! The spanish lady at reception was too busy smoking at the front door rather than help. i got back to reception at 950pm as my credit card wouldnt work and asked to get on the computers and she said that reception was closed. The sign on the door says open from 9am-11pm. Her reply "Not tonight". So I had no money until the morning. The showers are terrible and in the basement yet we stayed on the 3rd or 4th floor!!!! No other showers available!!!!! Dont stay here!!!!!!

Had a short, but very pleasant stay - especially appreciated your "bicycle touring" friendliness..! (and that wonderful breakfast, yum.)

This was our first ever experience in a hostel, & we were expecting a fun, friendly atmosphere, but this was really just average. We were expecting friendlier staff at least. We were not expecting 5 star accommodation, but we're disappointed that the room was freezing & pillows stinky. However, the location was absolutely perfect, 4 min walk to the train station & the Roman Baths, & grocery store. Showers were good too. Hairdryer was a nice treat. Bring earplugs for sleeping, lotof street noise.

ON arrival (and during our stay) one staff member wasn't very friendly. The rest were all good however. Brilliant location and facilities. Didn't notice an atmosphere of note however i didn't spend much time at the hostel.

Location couldn\'t be better but straight down the road from the train station, and only a few minutes\' walk away from the Roman Baths. Rooms were clean and of a good size. My only complaint was that I never had hot water for my showers.

Place looks shabby, the only staff we met (receptionist) seemed impatient at best. Best thing about the hostel is the central location, but with Bath being so small that isn't of much importance really.

Place was really good and was lots of fun. The toilets weren't that great though and I couldn't actually find the showers- though to be fair I didn't look very hard. But apart from that it was a really good place, excellent location.

1) Some of the staff spoke poor English, and officious, which caused communication problems. Others were nice but the overall impression was not very friendly. 2) It is not made clear on the booking confirmation that one is expected to bring a passport or driving licence as ID. For something so crucial this is appalling, especially as I was initially given the impression when I arrived that I would not be allowed to stay there because I didn't have them with me, even though I had pre-booked.
