The hostel smelled terrible like rotting food and was very musty. The cups in the kitchen were all cracked and nothing was wiped down in the kitchen or lounge/dining room. There were not nearly enough shower or bathroom facilities. Beware - they do not change the bedding in between guests - ugh!!!. There is no individual bed side lighting and the punch code lock system seemed insecure. Altogether a very disappointing stay - it spoiled our trip to lovely Bath!

Not the best push-button showers in the world. The staff didn't seem over-friendly, but the location is great! The hostel charges 3 pounds per bag to store them after checkout?! This I find to be a joke after paying only 10 to stay there!? Apart from that, the hostel has everything you need for a quick stop.

excellent location right in the centre of bath, we stayed in winter and the dorms were nice and warm.

More Toilet and shower facilities could be provided. Clealiness could be improved. The dormitories seemed a bit over crowded. (the top section of teh buker bed was almost very close to the ceiling)

the staff and the location were the best features here, also the price considering its in bath, "the city where everything costs more..." not enough lockers in the larger dorms, but the place seemed decent enough, also it was cleaned daily. could have used more showers, but then maybe im only saying that as i was on the top floor, showers on the bottom... also decent lounge area...

i stayed two nights here and for me it was the low point of a beautiful city. it is dark and dingy, the bathrooms and unclean, the kitchen is fairly large, but is also dingy and gross. it is need of a a good scrub everywhere and a couple coats of paint. the staff barely ackowledged you, and one didnt know what to do when i was trying to check out. overall unpleasant

The room had not been cleaned properly ar there were item under some of the beds. The shower tempersture varied so much that the showers were unsatisfactory.

Nice hostel, great location near the train station as well as the historic part of the city. Staff were friendly and willing to help, but no city maps for guests when we were there. Only real problem with the hostel was not enough bathrooms for the number of guests (one shared m/f toilet on each floor and a slightly larger separate m/f bathroom in the basement). Also the kitchen storage (shelves and fridges) is almost all reserved for staff, with just a mini-fridge for guests to use.

The only criticism I have is that the paint work was shabby and therefore off putting- but at such a reasonable price I shouldn't really complain!

The atmosphere here was great, the staff are unbelievably friendly and seem very happy to socialise with guests. A very fun place to stay!

Staff wasn\'t very friendly in Backpackers Bath :( It would be nice if staff says \"hello\" when they meet visitors in common rooms...
