I visited all hostels in Bath except YMCA, and this one is my favourite. I was here the 2nd time and like it a lot. Room Brutus is great :)

The hostel is in a great location, in the center, very close to the Roman bath and the abbey. The staff, a guy, was very rude and didn't explain anything. The pillow cases were dirty and I don't know if they clean the duvet or not since they didn't ask us to bring back the sheets when we left. There is something like 3 showers for the whole hostel and only one toilet per floor. Also some of the bed didn't have a ladder... I will never go back there and I advice people to pay more for a better 1

Unfriendly staff, unable to check in at 10 as instructed, had to come back. Cramped, airless bunkroom, nasty decor, unsure how clean. Near the station, endless street noise and loud tv game playing outside the room led to a sleepless night. Couldn't wait to leave and would never do it again.

Drawings on the wall reminded me of the same style I have seen in the London Backpackers in Hendon, London. Possibly done by the same "artist" and a sister hostel of them. If you need some free internet access and it's only for a respectable 5-15 minutes, then go to the apple mac store in the city centre.

Older building with vibrant interior wall murals! Punch code "keys" on front door and rooms. Small but fully equipped kitchen. Bathrooms on 2 and 3 floors were small and dirty, but the main bathrooms were usually cleaner and well worth the trek downstairs. Shower rooms equipped with motion sensitive lights on a short timer (so be quicke in the stalls or you'll be in the dark) and never had hot water (even if you shower first). Beds very squeaky and a little uncomfortable.

I followed all of the hostel rules on selecting a bed and went to bed around 11pm. Around midnight I was rudely awoken by someone who had apparently 'claimed the bed' for over 1 month without following any of the 2 indicators as directed by the hostel staff. There were no other open beds within the 10 bed room. The staff was clueless as to how this could happen and had to split up our group into several rooms in the middle of the night. I would NOT recommend this hostel to anyone!!!!!!!!

The bathroom stunk. The room stunk. The showers were three flights of stairs down from my room. The kitchen was a mess, and the dining room way too small. There are some people who have just kind of moved in there, which is weird. The staff is generally really nice, but when I went to collect my deposit, I found that they had given it to someone else with my name who had signed out. I watched them split up a couple who had reserved two beds in my dorm because they mismanaged the reservation.

Good location, reasonable prices, good kitchen with huge fridges, comfortable living room with sofas, sky, benches, tables, free wifi and always a few people to hang out with. I loved spending time there. The room itself (female dorm, DIVAS) was not so good. The bed was not super duper comfortable but the main problem was the door that squeaked extremly load. For people who are crazy about clean toilets: That's the place to go! I have never seen so clean toilets in a hostel before!
