The staff were very warm and helpful. The accommodation was basic but clean and very secure. Lots of information available from staff or the leaflets that in the reception area.

The YMCA hostel staff were very welcoming and helpful. My friend and I had booked separate rooms but we asked on the day if we could switch to a twin and they were able to accomodate this for us. The hostel was extremely clean and the shower facilties were great. The location is also fantastic. I would definitely recommend this hostel.

We were searching for some reasonably priced accommodation in Bath (hard to come by) and this was perfect as we were coming up for a wedding. Great city centre location, staff were really nice. Only things I would say were it was very noisy (late night drunks coming back and corridors magnify every sound) .. and there were no plug points in the room (very strange) so no phone charging or hair straightening/drying.

We had issues getting into our room on arrival so left our stuff in the storage after being reassured it would be safe. The gentleman we dealt with late evening was terrific. So helpful and accommodating to our needs.

The hostel was well run and the accommodation was great value for money. Only thing I would change is that my room was nearer the ladies toilets and showers and had to cross the staircase in the night to use the toilet, would have been better if male only rooms are on the same side of the staircase as male facilities although am aware wouldn't always be possible and just a minor thing

First time I have stayed in a YMCA since I was 20 (and then it was a YWCA) and that was nearly 40 years ago. Helpful staff, great central location, good local knowledge especially when it came to car parking. I would definitely stay again.

When I first arrived at Hostel YMCA and was placed in a single room, I had the sensation that I was entering a psychiatric hospital: the colors of the walls, the furniture, specially the bed, everything was in great need of modernization. Through the walls, you can hear the water in the pipes and the noise can be disturbing. The location is average, because it's not far, but neither that close to the train station or the main attractions. Poor facilities don't allow interaction between guests.

Leaving keys at reception is a pain, so is having to get new Internet codes every hour

It's an average hostel, it's Ok for the value, it's just to sleep. The only thing I'd point out is that you can hear noise from neighbors rooms.

Showers are extremely poor - only one of four showers in the bathroom (not on same floor as my room) gave proper amount and temperature of water. As soon as leaving the lobby area it was getting very cold, including bathroom. Quite inconvenient. Self-catering was nothing more than microwave and hot water. Location is very good, close to the station and all. Anyway, you'll have to keep your eyes open not to miss the narrow path to the backyard's entrance. Staff was friendly. Breakfast quite ok.

Shower was cold. Not sure if the duvets are washed. Only one outlet for the entire room. No individual lights. Some dodgy people seem to sort of live and hang out at the hostel.
