This place is absolutely brilliant. I ended up staying here for a week in the end just because the vibe in this place is incredible. I couldn't recommend it highly enough.

On the same street as most of the other hostels which was nice. Had a good pool (though was freezing since it was winter) and hot tub. You can pay for laundry if needed. Bathrooms were down towards the back so depending on your room location could be a bit far away for a middle of the night run. Was relatively clean and kitchen wasn't too small.

The staff was super friendly and they have a lot of amenities. Like I needed to borrow an adapter and they have those. Surprisingly, they have a lot of things to borrow.

This was one of the most amazing hostels I have ever been staying at. Especially the beds were just so comfy, definitely a plus compared to other hostels! Staff was awesome!! You should definitely go there!!

I stayed in a lot of hostels during my travelling in New Zealand but this one is really special. The staff is amazing and helps you with everything you need. The facilites like showers and kitchen are very tidy as they are cleaned every day. They have a big pool, a Spa, offer free Coffee and Tea and also free international calls. I can really recommend this hostel! Finally you can say they have everything you need for a really good price.

Kitchen horrific and stains all over room but good location and good for a few days.

dorms with a big glasdoor, no extra window, but it's ok. not a lot of room for backpacks. bed sheets were dirty (not unwashed, but with spots). bathrooms very clean after cleaning but not at all in between. kitchen equipment was fine, but the rest of it were quite a mess. fridges smelly, working space dirty. alcohol is allowed with signs that everything has to put away afterwards. which would be fine. but it doesn't happen. like a party hostel. close to the beach and i-site

Bay Adventure is a nice Hostel, there are many friendly people and the staff ist good too. The kitchen is dirty and the rest of the hostel is not cleaned very thoroughly, likewise the kitchen is equipped very worth. The Showers are only warm and not really hot, the fridges are very dirty. But the staff endeavors as good as it cans. The Pool, Tennis court, Beds and the Whirlpool are good and clean.

Well, the toilets were locked at 11pm which we were not told about and they were really dirty. They had 2 kitchens, but the cleanest of the 2 were rented out to tour groups so you could not use it and the other one you would not want to use as everything is dirty. There is NOT FREE KAYAK HIRE, and there is no point in using the internet as it's so slow! There is no security as all our food was stolen and there was no where to lock away any stuff!! Would not recommend anyone to stay here!!!!!

Has the potential to be amazing. Rooms are a good size and the showers are hot and powerful but Staff too interested in drinking to clean any part of the hostel well. Kitchen is disgusting and the pool is only good the day it's cleaned. Laundry everywhere and no adheres to any rules.

We came to your backpackers 8 years ago and were so impressed with the value for money that we actually recommended it to friends who would never have even considered staying at a backpackers. They were also impressed. Unfortunately, 8 years on, the apartment we stayed in upstairs was a bit run down with badly stained carpet and windows that looked like they hadn't been cleaned in ages. Other things there were great though and making good upgrades. I guess we were just unlucky.

Place was overbooked. We were placed in another unit that was not what we have booked for the first night.
