i really liked this place. the staff were lovely people, the area, botafogo, i liked, i tended to walk the 40 minutes to copacabana but there is always a quick bus if your not crazy like me. again the buses and metro to anywhere in rio are right on your doorstop. and you can look up at corcovado and christo on rua sao clemente whenever you like...

This is a pretty average hostel. The location is fairly convenient for the metro, supermarket etc. (closer to Copa Cabana would be better). The bar is good with reasonably priced cocktails and a good room to chill out with cable TV. The atmosphere was pretty dull, the rooms are crammed and uncomfortable - triple bunks side by side and plastic on the beds making it loud so you don´t get much sleep. Facilities were often dirty because toilets don´t flush well. Kitchen is basic.

Hi Paul, We wont be talking about location because google maps is a tool that can be used by anybody before trying to find a place to stay. The hostel is 3 blocks from the Botafogo beach. We are located 2 minutes walking distance from the metro which takes you to copacabana in less than 5 minutes. Ipanema is only two stations away. Lots of restaurants, stores and facilities nearby. We offer a very good atmosphere and there is nothing we can do if we were not able to please you. Rooms are spacious and yes, we have all our mattresses covered with plastic to prevent the Hostel against bedbugs. Our kitchen is fully equiped with 16square meters!! 2 frigdes, free filtered water, microwave..cooking facilites!! Please next time book a Hotel for yourself. Our Hostel is cleaned three times per day. Anyone is welcome to inform reception if there is a problem (for example - flushing issue). Regards, Beach Backpackers Hostel
