+ Spacious rooms + Very central + Friendly staff, though obviously swamped -Kitchen was awful in so many ways -Bathroom was very poorly cleaned -Breakfast did not exsist, though it said so in the info -Did I mention the kitchen? Seriously, wow...

This is the worst hostel I have stayed at. The first room I stayed in was disgusting. The first morning that I was there the sink in the bathroom was covered in flies. The laundry service was rubbish, most of the machines were out of order and they were out of washing powder at reception. The opening hours of the kitchen were limited, be considerate to people who have to leave early. Even when I tried to use the kitchen during "opening hours" they had closed it for cleaning. Avoid this hostel!

Bathrooms were really really dirty!!! I don't know when they cleaned it the last time!

Really good sized dorm rooms with air conditioning and decent bathrooms, all in all very good value for money. I arrived late at night, reception was closed and they and left me a key to my room that didn't work so i had to spend the night on the floor but reception staff were really helpful and apologetic the next morning and gave me a free night and some money off my remaining night. only downside is that the kitchen is filthy.

Not much bad to say about this hostel at all except the kitchen is boiling hot and all pots n pans are banged up and crappy. Good vibe, great staff. Everything u need in one place. Would recommend!

You should keep your kitchen open till more hours.. respect the customs of other countries that have dinner late.

Staff were very friendly and easy to approach for information about anything you needed to know about directions to certain places, tours etc. overall it was a pleasant stay and i enjoyed my time in cairns.

The rooms were huge, with a sink & fridge actually in the room. The bathroom was big. The location is awesome. Very impressed!

Beaches staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms were lovely and cold (perfect for a struggling Brit this time of the year!). The free breakfast was very cool, cereal, toast, tea & coffee. Plenty available too! Unfortunately the kitchen was often dirty and there were only 2 cooking pots and a handful of spoons which made the free cereal difficult to enjoy when you're aware someone needs your spoon in the next ten minutes before the free breakfast ends! If your willing to wait, though...
