Beagle Houseboat Reviews

We stayed at the Beagle for 3 nights over the weekend and loved every minute of it! The location is perfect as it is right near central station for when you arrive and leave and the city centre is only a few minutes walk away. The houseboat has plenty of room and the heating is great as it was a bit chilly outside. We felt very at home there, so much so that sometimes we felt like chilling out there and had to drag ourselves out to make sure we made the most out of Amsterdam. Aart was great too!

I've been to Amsterdam many many times over the last 8 years and The Beagle was the best place I've ever stayed. It has super charachter, I loved ever minute of The Beagle :-) It is an amazing boat, so much charachter, excellent value for money and the the owner Aart is very cool :-)

That was my first trip to Amsterdam and what a place to stay! The boat is really good, even too good! ;) I'll come back!!

I've been to Amsterdam several times now. This was my first time staying on the Beagle and as far as I'm concerned, I'll never have to look any further for accomidation in the future. Everything from the atmosphere to the location to the captain (great guy) was perfect. Thanks for a memorable experience.

Aart (the host) was incredible! He took the time to explain every detail we needed to know about the houseboat beforehand and made us feel very comfortable contacting him if we should have any concerns. There was also some tea, coffee and Amsterdam accessories free for use and a fridge and shelf stocked with goodies for sale (beers, chips, chocolates etc) And the houseboat-THE HOUSEBOAT! There is no better way to spend whatever "down time" you have in Amsterdam than on a houseboat with your pals

We had a great time on the good ship Beagle. Although it may sound like an odd thing to say, The Beagle is almost 'too' comfortable. It's so nice being on the boat that it is quite tempting to spend more time there than you would in a normal hostel or hotel (especially if you've been indulging in the local produce). That said, it was a great weekend. Thank you!

Loved the Beagle. Loads of room to chill out and relax. Comfy beds Brilliant facility of having a computer there so we could research our trip and play music. Great big fridge full of goodies you can dip into ;-) very handy to have kitchen there so we could have cereal and make truffle tea :p and even use the microwave! Great adjustable heating system and lots of lighting options. Although we didn't meet the captain Aart, he sent us very friendly e-mails and his assistant was very friendly also.

Just you and your friends on a boat. Owner leaves you to yourself, and everything really depends on you! I was hesitant at first but we had an amazing time!

Absolutely amazing. The Beagle houseboat far exceeded our expectations. We didn't really know what to expect and tbh I thought it might be a bit cold on a houseboat in Jan,but someone had been round before we got there and put the heating on. The decor was so nice and cosy, loved the lamps and all the plants. The minibar system was a life saver and very reasonable priced. Location was perfect right in amongst it all but still quiet and they let us stay an extra night when we missed our flight.

Excellent all told, especially once you get your sea legs!

Me and three mates had an awesome time aboard the Beagle, perfect base for seeing the sights of Amsterdam. AJ the captain provided a fridge full of goodies which was a great idea, as his things cost less than the local shops, 1 euro a can being a bargain. We will definately be coming back to the Beagle again, when i manage to save some money. Much better than any hostel and for the same price too.
