I found this place very quirky and good fun. My room was amazing with mirror balls and funky lighting which made it perfect for a smoke before bedtime!! The character of the place was brilliant, with unique bedrooms, crazy singing toilet and fairylights in the shower. However, we found the owner rather strange- she gave us the wrong room key so we couldn't lock our door, she didn't have a clue as to how much I owed her on arrival and insisted I told her the wrong arrival time (which I didn't!).

Funky little hostel, nice area, nice bars around. Host was lovely. Shower was clean but a bit too mildew-y (always off-putting). The rooms and tiny reception area/common space here are all on the same level so when the other guests got home late & hung out in the reception (just a normal level of chatting), right next door to our private room , we were kept awake, which negated the reason that we booked a private room - to get some undisturbed sleep.

My experience at the hostel was very bad. On January 12 I arrived at the Netherlands from Argentina and when I got to the hostel with my reservation nobody was there. We waited for one hour to see if someone answered the door but no one appeared. We called and nobody answered. We returned an hour later and still there was no one. We had to pay another hostel. The next day we went back.Tthe woman apologized, but never told us she wouldn´t be there or even contact us though we'd left a note.

The keeper (Alex) was amazing and very friendly/helpful. The location was not in the city center, but it wasn't bad at all. Clean rooms and beds. Walls are very thin and I'd advise ear plugs for light sleepers. Would stay here again!!!

Superlocation, very nice local district. Room was cleaned while we were at city, it was very nice thanks for that :). There was all supplies for smokers and really good coffeeshop in 20m. Toilet was awesome with music and lights and shower was clean and best I've seen in hostels.

Although not fancy, Bed and Coffee is good value for money. You get a clean, private room with comfy beds at a low price. I found Alexandra to be very friendly and hospitable. I especially liked the mirror balls with the different coloured lights in the rooms. That was a nice touch.

The place is very comfortable and nice. You have access to a lot shops and public transport. The owner, Alexandra, is the nicest and kindest person that I have ever met in an hostel!

Interesting in the best possible way. Considering the high prices of Amsterdam, it is good :) The location isn't central at all, but it's great if you want to relax. The rooms have disco balls and ultra violet lights - very funky :)

We enjoyed our stay here very much. We showed up earlier than the tennant, Alexandra, had expected but she was very kind and let us store our bags in the room. The location is wonderful if you are looking for somewhere a little further out of town but it is still walking distance to wherever you need to go, and if not the trams are really easy to navigate. If you are a smoker I recommend it! You can smoke in the hostel, and there is an awesome coffee shop across the street.

We had an excellent time, thank you so much. Anyone who rates lower than 100% is HIGHLY delusional. Thank you.

Altought we had arranged with the hostel to arrive at 12 am our room was absolutely messy, it hadn´t been cleaned and it was DIRTY. The explanation we got from Alexandra (staff) was that she had been with back ache the past few days and she couldn´t move from bed. A couple in the room next door got apologies as well for not cleaning its room. So we had to leave our stuff and went out while waiting to our room to be ready. Coffee facilities were a tiny counter with a coffee-maker and a fridge.

Friendly staff and a clean room. Shower and toilet very cramped. Expensive for what you get. Unfortunately staff weren't there when we arrived so we couldn't immediately start exploring the city - and time is precious when you're only visiting a city for two days. We also chose this hostel because we thought we could leave our bags there on our final day, but this wasn't possible, so actually we only ended up with one day to explore Amsterdam.
