Had a great time there. We were looked after greatly by the Begovic family and particular praise must go to their aunt who was staying next to us and tended to our every need. Nothing was too much for her! Apartment was beautiful and very atmospheric for the area. A bit far from Old Town but near bus stop (5 minutes walk or so) to get to Old Town and great beach nearby for snorkeling as well as all ammenities. Highly recommended.

Although is far from the center it's worth paying the price plus the bus that takes you the city center. The help you a lot with you trip and if you have any problem, don't hesitate to contact them, they will be willing to help you.

If I was able to find a perfect guest house then Begovic Boarding house is as close as they can come! The owner of one of the houses, Kattia, is a wonderful, knowledgeable and kind hostess and mr Begovic is equally attentive. I am a solo traveller who was on my way south so spent two night here, but I saw families here as well as other solo travellers so it seems like a place for everyone. A great place to stay, and the only place I will stay again if i come back to dubrovnik!

Great place, loved the little opening speach. Would have been nice for someone to come clean the bathroom that was used by the 4 room guests though as it got quite grose thru out the day.

Stayed here twice in a week and it was fantastic. FIrst room was a private with an adjoining kitchen, bathroom and washing machine. The couple running it are lovely and helpful and come to pick you up from the bus station. Great place to stay!

Very nice place with adorable owners. But the place was only full of couples - not really a backpackers place! So really great to rest and relax (the beach is very close and the old town 10min away by bus) but not necessarily to meet new people when you are travelling alone (or I just got an unfortunate timing! :-)

Begovic is a real boarding house. It stands on a hill in a little street in Lapad. The rooms are airy, comfortable and inviting. The staff are typical Croatian; welcoming and practical. Take advantage of the pick-up service as the roads are tiny, steep and winding which makes heavy luggage a nightmare to carry. There is a pharmacy 1 minute away, a supermarket 5 mins away and the beach 6 minutes. You can simply walk everywhere and enjoy the fully functioning self-caterinig services.

The hostel is okay. Its clean, and near to a nice beach (Lapad area has nice restaurants, supermarket really close). However, I would not recommend it for a lone traveler. Its not a great place to meet other people, and Dubrovnik does not offer walking tours that would allow you to meet others. If you are traveling with others, then its okay. You can always catch the bus (10 kuna..which is about 1.5 euros...each ride)
