Directions need some work. If you find the street, you will see 16,18,9A...then finally there will be a story and a half house with a walk out basement with the 17 address on it. The only sign that we saw was the silver mail slot next to their front door that said Begovic in 12 font lettering. Cool old couple though. He also waits out by the bus station so you might be able to get a ride with him.Directions need some work. Picked up from bus station without prior arrangement, very handy and thoughtful! Hostel very far walk from old town, many stairs to climb when returning, can get confusing. Up a long hill (stairs) from the main drag in Lapad, and a bit of a bus ride from Old Town. Great place to stay, nice and quiet away from the old town but with heaps of restaurants and a nice beach close by. The staff in this hostel is very friendly and is a good location very close to the beach, away 20-30 minutes to downtown, the bus station and the port. It have a shared cook, a shared fridge, and a cheap supermarket is really near of the hostel (5m walk). The two main problems are, on one hand, there are many mosquitoes, it is really important to use repelent. On the other hand, it have not air condicioned and is very hot in summer. Stayed in a 3 bed room with no A/C or fans. Bed was very uncomfortable, had a really bad back for the 3 days that i was there. I was also moved to another house which was not the actual hostel, but it wasnt too bad as it had its own kitchen which was pretty good. Shower not too bad either. If you stay here, be warned that there are so many many steps to climb to get up to the hostel so make sure your luggage is light. Need to catch the bus to get into town but only takes 5-15mins.
