I've stayed here twice for a weekend - both times were very good and I would come back for a third time. One thing that seems unorganised is room reservations. On our first night we were relocated to their sister hostel because they had no spare rooms. Thankfully it was on other side of road. Our rooms were clean, but there was mold on the ceiling and water leakage. Bathrooms small. Restaurant pricy, meals not that good. It's close to the subway and attractions. Hard to get a cab on Meishi Jie..

Although the hotel is in the centre, we found it a bit hard to find because of the small streets. One of the staff, a Spanish guy, came out to find us and he also gave us a mini tour of the area. He was super helpful. When we got to the hotel, they didn't have our dorm room available, but for the same price, gave us a private room. Very good service.

Nice hotel in a really good neighborhood. The staff is kindly, and the lounge is quite comfortable. 2 négative points for me, maids were not doing their job (sheets, towels and clean) and shower is on the top of toilets.

Although the did not have a room that we booked, they arranged the first night in a nearby hotel for us, and gave as free breakfast as a compensation. The staff was really friendly and helpful. The hotel is situated in traditional hutong area, is well-maintained and has a unique character. Nice place to stay!

The staff is really very helpfull, kind and pleasend. Young people with a fresh attitude and their english is very good. Travellers, who like an authentic urban atmosphere with narrow streets and the original "Hutong-feeling" will like it very much. But the nice restored coutyard-hotel ist a quite and tidy island! Some rooms have a window only to the court - maybe nice in hot summer. In march it was good to have a window to the outside (more light!) Ask for it, if you matter. Tasty breakfast!

I was happy with the room and the staff were nice and efficient with good English but this is not much of a hostel, more a hotel. Hence the name, I guess. Having stayed in many hostels, this scores particularly low on ambience. The bar isn't run by the hostel-it's been subcontracted out- and we sat in it for ten minutes waiting to be served, then gave up, because who ever runs it wasn't there. Also, I think there should be lockers for bags, rather than a room that everyone can gain access to.

The hostel is well located in a quiet hutong but near shops and restaurants. The staff are not so well-informed about Beijing for tourists but are very very friendly and sweet. The main problem is that there's just one shower room (2 sinks and 2 showers but 1 has no door so people lock the bathroom door). So if 1 person is taking a shower, nobody can even brush their teeth. This isn't a problem for people in private rooms but it's a problem if you stay in a dorm. But overall, I recommend it.

Looked like a hotel with people to talk to in the room. Great staff all around the hotel. Towels provided, razor, toothbrush free of charge. Excellent value for money.

The hostel has a fantastic location. Beijing is a really big city, which makes it difficult to travel around with low budget, buy the subway station and bus stops just a couple of blocks away from the hostel enable you to do it. The hostel is not only a beautiful historical site, but also a great place to hang around. The staff is compromised to make your stay as good as possible, they help you in things way beyond their responsibilities, such as walking you to a bus or helping you get a taxi.

Was a bit of confusion with my booking, but the staff were quite helpful. There were some nice alleys and shopping areas nearby to enjoy. Not far from the subway. The little cafe and the communal areas in the hotel had a nice character about them. Not alot more to say as I was really looking for a cheap place to stay the night on my way through Beijing. Was convenient to get to both the train station and airport via public transport.

Fantastic front-desk staff. The gentleman spoke strong English and was always willing to go above and beyond to help the clients. Character and location were good, very close to the Forbidden city and other attractions, located in an old bank, but the distance to the metro could be a bit closer. Overall, fantastic hostel, would stay again

We had booked the triple room, however when we arrived this was not available. The staff were brilliant in sorrting this out for us. We were given another double room at no extra cost. This suited us as the only reason we had booked the triple was to keep the cost down. I would recommend staying here. I was there with my Mum (aged 70), my daughter (aged 23). I would recommend this for all age groups. The staff were very helpful too

Could do with a few more facilities for entertaining the guests in the evening, lacked some atmosphere that other hostels have. Western menu could be improved, repetition is a must. I ordered breakfast 3 times and everytime it was different likewise with the burgers. Otherwise enjoyed my stay and look forward to seeing you again in April. Big thumbs up to your staff, in particular hard working "wei" forever putting up with our stupid requests. Big thanks and keep up the good work :)

I stayed in a 4 person dorm, and although the floor shred a single shower room and a single bathroom, you can't complain for the price. The bedding was much nicer than what I am use to in China and the hostel was very clean. The hostel is near the Qianmen subway station so it is cheap and easy to get most anywhere in the city from there, and that area of the city has older buildings and has a nicer feel than the newer parts of the city. Over all I would stay there again if I was visiting.
