This is a good choice for those who want a more Chinese experience. Quiet and affordable, but not a great place for meeting people.
a good place to stay, i would prabably staty there again
The hostel is a little tricky to find because it's located on a hutong and the map that they provide you do not consider the hutongs in the directions, just the main streets. It's located on a walking distance of tianamen square, subway station and forbidden city. Very nice english speaker staff. They also book tours, if you want to. I highly recommend to do the ancient secret great wall tour with them! We went to a very calm and peaceful place in the great wall!
Staff were fine but only one guy with a good standard of english, the rest appeared to have difficulty but they always tried to help anyway. The worst part about this hostel is the noise, since all the rooms back onto the main courtyard which gets noisy early in the morning. Additionally, they play some weird elevator music on a loop, which you can't hear in the rooms but if you sit in the courtyard it will drive you insane, I don't know how the staff cope. Beds weren't great but good location.
ou room wasn't cleaned at all during the 6 nights I stayed here and several other guests came and went so they weren't waiting for the dorm occupants to change. With 10 beds to one bathroom this was a little gross but the hostel is very cheap for the location so if you're happy to clean the shower before using it then it's fine

Have to walk almost 30 mins from the nearest subway station, no ATM machine in the reception, then asked me leave my ID card there to get cash... and the receptionist is less of hospitality... Pls take a shower for the cats.

this hostel is probably the cheapest one in Beijing. if you wanna save money, it will be a good choice. but the dorm i stayed is really small as a 8 beds dorm. the toilet is a bit dirty and it is very noisy in early morning.
had to argue over having chinese men in our dorms, as they state on hostelworld and on their website that they don't allow it (we had enough of being kept awake all night by them snoring and hocking and spitting and smoking in the rooms in other hostels) They never had food there so were told to go to the sister hostel. ok atmosphere. guy at reception (manager i think) is an *, would not help us at all when we asked about any attractions like the great wall, just wanted to sell us tours.
we only stayed for two nights, but we really enjoyed. location is very convinient, the street where the hostel is is full of street food, and nice bars and shops, it's close to metro and close to forbidden city and night market. very satisfied
Our stay was fun. The trip offered by the Hostel are really good. Only bad hing the airconditioning didn't worked so well, the 10 beds room was kind of a sauna
Enjoyed the courtyard atmosphere on May 19, also for nights of May 6, 7, 8, 9. Convenient for transportation. Taxi pick up at the airport and return excellent. Two things that are negative are: First, at 12 or 1 a.m during our stay on May 9, the noise in lobby and in a room very loud..Another guest also complained. .We told the manager and he said there was nothing they could do about it. On May 19, the noise at 2-3 a.m. slamming doors next to us, a woman and men spoke loudly couldn't sleep
The location is perfect, close by feet to the forbidden city and to animated hutongs, and 20min from the subway. Except the first lady we met who tried to make us stay in a 6-bed dorm (we had booked a 4-beds dorm), all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Careful, the ladies toilets are only separated by small walls and NO doors, it is something to keep in mind if you want to stay there. To sum up, it's an average hostel, with very good value for price in Beijing. I would recommend it.
Nice room, took us a while to find, however, great location in a hutong with not expensive restaurants and souvenir shops. Close to Qian Men station and Forbidden City / Tiananmen. Free drink voucher and bar with a good atmosphere.
Beautiful courtyard. Friendly staff. Great bar. Great location.
We had a hard time getting to the hostel since the Qianmen stop was closed so we had to get off one stop after that one and we got lost. We used google maps to try to get there but the location there is WRONG and we ended up in a very scary alley (it was past 10pm). Don't trust google maps in China! After we managed to get there everything was ok, it has a nice bar, very near to the forbidden city and the metro. It is not a super nice hostel but it is ok to spend a couple of days.
The dorm rooms are a bit crowded, but they have an ensuite bathroom and safes. Kind of hard to find originally and not very close to a subway station, but walking distance to Tiananmen Square. Bar area is fun and relaxed. Nothing exceptionally good or bad about the Leo
Mold in the the corner of room 223 one of the eight person mixed dorms. Even a little effort to clean the cafe/bar area would make it much better. During my visit kebab sticks were on the cafe/bar floor in the late afternoon.
Great hostel, had a really pleasant stay there. After reading some bad reviews here I was a little afraid I'd pick the wrong place to stay for more than a week in Beijing. They all turned out to be unrealistic to me. Maybe the not so good cleaniness is the only valid criti (plus the fact that beer in their bar is a little expensive). Otherwise, great, cheap, well located place (about 20 min walk from subway, in the core of a Hutong, so you get to experience the real local community)
Toilets in the dorm rooms very grotty. Bathrooms in dorm rooms not well ventilated. No soap or toilet paper provided for dorm rooms. I will not stay here again, although the rooms are a good price for cheap student travelers.

Nice place to stay in a vibrant area of Beijing . We stayed in a twin rom for 5 night. Room was ok, bed comfortable, window in the room and no smoking place ( 3 characteristic difficult to find in Chinese hostel..) =). Only the private bathroom was dirty . Staff was helpful ! I would recommend this place !
