Located in a hutong, quiet place. 15 minutes near the subway station. Bathroom dirty : I think They don't know bleach... But if it just to Sleep it's ok!
Staff lost booking, didn't believe us even though we had printed confirmation, tried to charge us for a 6 bed dorm when trying to fit us into a 12 (we got moved after kicking up a fuss). Don't book an excursion , they want tell you when it's cancelled until after you ask for your money back and even then it takes a while to persuade them to do that. Even asking for directions is a chore, wouldn't stay here again.
Quite disappointed at this hostel if honest. The staff seem clueless, the cleaning staff barge in and begin cleaning even if you ask them to come back later because you are still sleeping. They didn't inform us that a trip we were booked on had been cancelled until we turned up. The bathroom ceiling also leaked water from the bathroom of the room above ours, we told the hostel and they have done nothing about it. However one member of staff stood out as she helped us when no one else would.
Beijing Leo Courtyard is a nice place with a good atmosphere . I recommend it to anyone who wants a simple base to explore Beijing. If you are expecting The Ritz, well it's back to the search engine for you. My experience at the Courtyard was far from perfect but after living in China this is what you should always expect. The Courtyard has some unflattering reviews, a lot of these are from Westerners expecting Western standards - it aint gonna happen! It is what it is - A place to sleep :-)

I came back after three years as I had a really good time back then. Unfortunately I was shocked. - The staff is completely untrained, they lost our reservation, the room was completely dirty and overall the whole hostel was just very dirty and "used". They did not provide toilet paper for the private shared bathroom and never cleaned the it at all. They really have to work on their service and have to renovate! We canceled our last night and moved to another place.
The location is definitely amazing, nice hutongs around the hostel. The staff is awesome as well. The downside is that I was the only foreigner on the dorm and barely saw another foreigner for days. Besides, they were shooting a TV show or something outside my room and I couldn't even talk on the phone or just chill on the common area
I rent a private room for 12 days. I never had my own key, I always had to ask to the reception desk to open my room's door. It was dirty. My air conditioner leaked. People are playing a movie in my corridor, so it wasn't easy to go outside and go back. Staff don't speak english very well. One day they entered in my room when I went outside and painted the wall! After 5 days in the night, they had to exclude all the foreigner customers we don't know why. I found an other better hostel.
wifi only in the lobby area. location is really good and the rooms have air con, with really comfy beds. the other thing is that the do not give you a key for the room so you always have to get a member of the staff to open and close the room every time.
A nice friendly environment,authentic decor!!
Very honest and nice staff

This place is not easy to find. The staff is nice but not very efficient. In general it seems that they do not take good care of the place, doors, desks, courtains, toilet facilities are all damaged and gives the feeling that is not very clean. The only time when the bathroom was cleaned, the person left the door unlocked with all our things in the room.
