Good location, comfortable rooms. Our bathroom was stinky and the toilet kept getting clogged. We had to ask 2-3 times and wait an hour before someone came to fix it. We got late for our day out in the city. Some of the staff members were very cold mannered. One girl was really nice (sorry don't remember her name!) Internet was shaky in the rooms. Their tours are overpriced. I took 4 people to Jiankou on my own and it cost less than half of their price to the 'secret wall'.

Great hostel with lots to do if you need a break! Film room, bar/restaurant, board games etc. Staff are helpful with places to eat and finding internet cafes. Good location, a 5 minute walk from Tian'anmen Square. Cheap supermarket just next door.

Nice location. Dorms are ok and spacious but lots of beds in the same big room. Good atmosphere but can be a little bit noisy so take that into consideration I you want a quiet hostel to rest. Toilets and shower are average. So overall it's a good hostel, even if you can find good cheaper dorms in the same area.

For a Chinese hostel, is OK. Toilets are clean; dorms aren’t very clean and are really noisy. The bar is cool but you can’t go with things you bought somewhere else... you don’t have a place to drink/eat things you bought outside. No kitchen, no credit cards.

Very well located hostel, best for all sightseeing, staffs is very helpful to providing tours booking, tourism information and public transportation tips. They also have maps of the activities in the area. Good western breakfast, very cheap beer Tsintao, and very good facicity. Thanks to my budy Shawn for is hospitality.

The staff are excellent and very helpful. We recommend the Great Wall tour the hostel organises as you go to the section which hasn't been reconstructed and there's plenty of time to climb it yourself (2.5hrs). We lived in a double room, which was a great size but its just off a communal area where people smoke at times. There's no Internet in the bedrooms, only the bar/restaurant area. Pls get new mattresses as they were so hard and the springs digging into my side I didn't sleep well at all.

Rooms have faint musty smell but no visible mold anywhere. Beds are hard due to extremely thin mattresses but still overall clean and comfy feeling. I only spent time in hostel to sleep because I was out seeing sights and shopping!

very loud music playing all the time (also in the night!) smoking everywhere except in the dorms. Staff often unable to help with problems.....the money you pay for the hostel is acceptable though

The hostel is really busy, which means you meet a lot of people there. It has a great bar which serves drinks 24/7 and food from 7am-11pm, both for a good price. The staff is friendly and can help you if you have any questions. Also it´s not far away from Tiananmen Square which makes it a good starting point for sightseeing. They offer tours to the Great Wall, it´s a bit pricey but really nice, because you visit a part of the wall not so touristic.

Great location and helpful staff. The bar/restaurant had a good atmosphere. I had a single room and it was quite expensive for the condition of the room - the sink leaked, it was 'musty', it was difficult to shower, and there were bugs in the room. I don't mind 'roughing it' but for the money I would expect better than that.

I stayed in the single room. There was no natural light and the shower was luke-warm and low pressure, but otherwise everything was fine. The staff definitely aren't the friendliest but they're okay. Good location, 5 minute walk to the subway station, generally quiet during the night.

My only negative is there was a big confusion with my booking through hostelworld which was very difficult to communicate to the staff.
