Beijing Leo is a very youthful hostel with a location close to Tiananmen Square and has a super helpful staff, especially Minnie! They help with directions and are always friendly.

Always pleasant everytime I visit. However, this past visit was not as pleasant as usual because there was a person, obviously not a guest, who not only asked me to buy her dinner, but then waited for me the next morning hoping to get breakfast as well. Since I was on my way out, she followed me all the way to the subway station, imploring me to take her back to Shanghai with me! Very annoying.

Nice place, great location and friendly staff, I like it. I slept in the 4 beds room - basic equipment, only one socket (!)

It was really nice experience for me. Very kind staffs, good at English, and familiarizing atmosphere. I stayed in 4 beds room, it was safer than I thought. The only thing that I want to suggest: plesae run the heater more warmer in winter! Although I stayed in Leo for only 1day, I want to come there back again next time!

Nice place, great tours and friendly staff with a great location, could do with a few lockers but apart from that a great backpacker place in Beijing

It is to be noted that I was there in the winter, so regarding facilities, it would involve warmth in the rooms. The first room's heater did not function and the electric heater which was brought in, did not do the job. As far as location, once I knew my way, it was O.K., but the drivers did not know where it was and left me out at the other end of a dark alley. On leaving, I was able to advise the driver to come by the proper street and pick me up. As hostel, I would recommend it.

Stayed in a single, which was freezing. The hot air blasted by the air conditioner does little to improve the frigidity of the room, likely better in summer. The dorms looked warmer, everywhere was very clean, food pretty good. The hostel tries hard to create a fun and friendly atmosphere with good success. Other than one less than competent night desk helper the staff were very helpful. Good location, good price, recommend (dorm in winter, single in summer).

I stayed at the hostel for 2 weeks and I can't say enough good things about the hostel! There really was nothing to dislike. It's very welcoming and cozy, even the 12 bed dorms, everyone has their own space. They have lockers, but most of the time you never have any reason to feel unsafe about leaving something out for 5 minutes. The best thing has to be the location though. It's central to EVERYTHING! Literally a 5 min walk to Tiananmen Square/Forbidden City. Definitely coming back here!

Our stay was extremely cold as our room's heating did not work and neither did the fin heater that we were given. When we complained little was done about it and after an argument we got a new fin heater and extra blankets- which did not help much. Also the toilets do not allow you to flush toilet paper, which is quite common, however, the bins in the bathrooms where you put the toilet paper in were not emptied daily so the entire room smelled pretty bad. Would not recommend the place.

I stayed in this hostel over xmas 2012 and I'm glad I did. The staff were very friendly and the place had a good atmosphere - it was one of those places where it's easy to just hang around the bar area and meet new people. I live in China but was going through a Western phase at the time (blush) and the food there was pretty nice and good value too. The room (private single) was good, though the bathroom was a bit fragrant at times. In summary, I had a great stay - would definitely recommend.

Clean and warm. Warm to hot water in the showers. Stayed in the 12 room bunk, it was warm and clean. The staff has good spoken English. Shaun is the man to talk to if you speak English. Its a party hostel if you in to that kinda thing! I settles down about 12am at night. Enjoyable stay.
