The hostel is located in centre of the town but in fact, we have to walk a long time to go to Beihai but be in this hostel allows to see hutongs. The room is not well equiped just the necessary (no towel). Maybe expensive. I was next to the office so can hear the phone calls. I could see people in the living room so seem not so perfect. Good hostel but you can find something better.

Rooms were clean but the continuous floods from the bathroom smelled terrible and meant you had to walk downstairs and outside to go and use the shower. I enjoyed my stay here but the fact I wasn't in a room near the stinky bathroom largely contributing to enjoying my stay (I feel sorry for the people in the rooms next door to the showers!). The staff were very friendly and helpful, loved the bar staff too! Being in the hutongs was really cool too.

The location was good because the hostel is close to the subway and major attractions like the Forbidden City. There was wifi and a computer in the common area. The room was small and outdated and had a smell. The room was next to the common area so it was quite noisy, especially in the early morning when everyone is getting together for the tours.

I had a great time there! Super nice people. Beds are really cheap. Just some minutes to subway, located in an original Hukou, so you can really see how people used to live before the skyskrpers were built. Nice and cheap restaurants nearby. W- Lan worked well although skype had some problems with connecting because of the speed (but u generally have that problem often in China). There was not always toilet paper (whitch is also normal). Rooms heated well in winter. Stuff great, and helpful!

It's a good budget hostel. My only complaints are that the Internet is reaaaally slow at night and that the place is a bit too cold (went in February). Was pleased by the heat of the showers though. The location is boring but the subway is close by.

This hostel was quite cheap, but also not very clean. The bathrooms had doors that didn't really shut and were not clean. There were multiple problems with the shower (not draining, no place to put dry clothes, spigot falling off the wall) and one of the sinks did not work at all. The rooms were reasonably clean. The staff were friendly, but quite slow to process and return our passports.
