Had a great time there and can recommend to any music loving backpacker, as you get to see grand bands for free (its included in the prize)!. Thats superb and hostel chief Tiff is one o the best o the best! For people that are not into music and rock n roll and who just want to chill in peace I would not recommend this for them. For me it was perrrr-fect.

The location is good, in Jhonston street and near smith street with a lot of cafe and restaurants. The hostel is small so it's like to live in house with other people. So if you meet nice people you will be luky. There isn't a24 hours reception so young people can be without control and at the weekend they probably make noise and you can't sleep very well. There's also a pub with metal music inside the hostel and the playing music until late.So if you want a quiete night it's not the right place

The hostel had a good atmosphere. People staying there long term were good and respectful. The staff were fine with having us go between the events we were at without any issues. I will return for my next interstate visit I reckon.

Amazing ! Tiffany is such a lovely, helpful and fun person. Only stayed there for 2 days, but would definitely go back! There's a nice bar downstairs, really comfortable beds, clean toilet/bathroom. There is a common room with a big tv and computer. Free wifi! The hostel is in Collingwood, a nice neighborhood with a lot of secondhand-shops and bars/cafes. Highly recommended!

The Bendigo is simply fun. The people here are open-minded and the staff, back-packers, and long-term residents have a great dynamic. You are welcome to join right in and if you do, you will be part of the family. I've been traveling for two months and my short stay at the Bendigo is by far the best. I prefer it over the corporate style hostels. I am thankful to a friend who recommended that I stay there, so consider this your recommendation and make your reservation at the Bend!

Great little hostel, more like a family b&b with some live music thrown in. Located in the coolest part of melbourne. Staff were ace too.

The Bendigo has been my favorite hostel in the past couple of months. If you're a musician or like music, this is a must. Tiff is super friendly and the wifi is good, you get lockers, etc etc. I originally had a couple nights and ended up staying almost a week. I stayed at the Nunnery my first night and the value for the money isn't there. There's only one shower here but honestly, it's better than having 10 and they all suck. You're a tram ride away from the CBD and by a grocery store.

Not a hostel to go to if you want a good night's sleep but great location and run by a lovely bunch of people. Great pub downstairs with live music and drinks deals plus good people passing through. Had a great time and would recommend to people wanting to make friends and have fun in the city.

This hostel has a great family-feel about it and is run by the awesome Tiff. We got in super late but were still shown up to our rooms and shown all around when we got there, even helped with our massive amount of luggage. The music downstairs was a little loud and definitely not to our tastes and the group did get pretty raucous one night. If you're looking for peace and quiet this may not be your cuppa, but for backpackers looking for a super friendly, close-knit hostel, this is your place.

Any flaws it had were made up for by the staff, great party hostel, right above a pumping bar in collingwood. Can't wait to go back.

Really enjoyed my stay here - a real hostel with a great, relaxed atmosphere! Awesome for either partying or just chilling out. Awesome area, awesome people, awesome vibe! Would definitely recommend it to anyone, whatever they're looking for, and would love to stay here again whenever I'm back in Melbourne.

The Bendigo Hotel was is the best hostel I've ever stayed in. If, like me, you were travelling to meet great people then this is the hostel for you. From the helpful and friendly staff from check in (Tiff) to the people you meet in the hostel, the whole place has a great vibe. The intimate nature of the hostel (reasonably small) and the fact that it has an excellent bar with live music beneath it, the Bendigo would be my first choice short-term accommodation in Melbourne, every time.

The Bendigoon hotel is actually the first hostel I consider worth spending a few minutes to write a review on. Its in my absolute favourite part of Melbz with loads of bars and galleries. the size of the hostel makes it feel rather like a cozy houseshare than a hostel. In addition wih Bendigos very own Tiff, who is the good soul of the hostel whilst being nothing like yer ma, unless your ma is supercool, its a place to feel at home. Only thing is : the bunks are so comfy you mite sleep all day.

Lovely, but LOUD. Its right above a pub that often has live music and even duringthe week plays music that is loud in the rooms above until after midnight. I slept well using earplugs.

Just lovely! I had a great stay there. The staff is caring and the other guests are really welcoming, a bit like a family. Only thing is that it is really loud in the night, because of the pub. But everything else is just great! I would always go there again.
