Best hostel i have been to so far. Friendly staff, clean, cheap but good food and drinks, great bar, awesome bands that play from wed-sun, perfect. If you like bands this is heaven on earth. If you don't, they usually stop around midnight so no worries. If this was in Belgium i would come here every day. Keep it up!

Originally only planned on staying here for 5 days, but am now here for my 5th week so far! Really friendly staff om hand to help if anything is needed, and met lot of cool people staying here. Drinks are cheap for hostel stayers as is the food at only $5 for stuff on the menu! Quite a laid back atmosphere in the day, picks up at night with the live bands on downstairs playing rock/metal etc (which im not a fan of lol). Really enjoying my stay, not leaving anytime soon!

It was cold and didn't smelled good. The beds were very loud and under the hotel is a bar, every night a band which you could hear very good. The washing machines were expensive and it wasn't that easy to get to the city. You had free wifi and and the kitchen wasn't that bad but we won't stay there again.

Bands from Wed - Sat. Accommodation is value for money but don't plan on getting a lot of sleep if you are a go-to-bed early person. Wed/Thurs bands finish about midnight but Fri-Sat can go much later. The atmosphere is quite unique and is well worth a visit if you're into hard-rock / metal. Staff were friendly and helpful. Meals were good quality & value but limited menu. A small drawback was no heating in the rooms but we can't have it all.

Thank you for you realistic review & really generous percentage - double smiley face :-) :-). And i wish i had of had a heater in your room during your stay but the couple before you broke it :-( Anyway, I've since purchased the replacement - had to wait for head office approval (my husband). Come back anytime and hopefully next time we can have a tequila together in the front bar. yours truly, tiff.

Heya all and sundry, please note: The Bendigo is a live music venue first and foremost. Thank you mr B (not allowed to put names in responses to reviews), for your feedback and letting others know who may not read our description thoroughly. It's so helpful to me because more people, i think, do read our reviews, i know i do when i book a hostel. Stay safe is Aus, hope to see you again soon. Tiff.
