Great, everything was clean, easy to reach, about 20 min walking distance from centralstation.

The location was excellent and near all the good locations in Bergen. My friend and I stayed in a 6-bed dorm w/t ensuite. It was fine, especially as we had the whole dorm to ourselves. Checking in on late arrival was a smooth process and we did not encounter any problems. Good kitchen facilities and a large communal area. The bathrooms were fine, except the showers were a tad annoying as you had to keep pressing the tap to receive water. This was only a trivial issue. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

The location is perfect, in the centre of city with easy access to all sightseeing places. However, the office hour is too short in winter which is a negative for hostel. I had to find elsewhere to store my luggage after 3pm for a flight to catch at 9pm. Living room could be bigger and decorated better. All 3 computers are not working. The dorm room is quite packed for 16 beds. But considering the price, fair.

It was a great atmosphere with awsome people. And the location was amazing. You have all the atractions of Bergen the moment you step out of the door.

The bed arrangement was a bit confusing, and the dorm floor was not clean. However, the kitchen was pretty clean and well packed. You can get anything you want in the kitchen!(sometimes free food) It is very close to the fish market and there are Kiwi, Bunnpris and Rema1000 near the hostel. It's very convenient!

Although the hostel has a fantastic location, that is its only redeeming quality. It is in a YMCA. It feels like an institution. Absolutely no atmosphere. The staff couldn't have been any less helpful. They didn't seem to care whatsoever despite the fact that the hostel was very slow. I had to make an effort to get their attention while they were on their cell phone behind the desk. The fridge in the kitchen was absolutely disgusting with rotting fish and milk.

It was one of the worst hostels ever. I will never visit there again. Reception closed so early. and no curtain in the shower room.

The location and kitchen are all it has going for it. The WiFi didn't work most of the time and showers were like open beach showers all together... no privacy. Absolutely no interaction with staff and zero atmosphere with guests.

It would definitely be nice to have some oil and salt and pepper available. Because most people, who just pass by for a couple of days won't buy oil and spices.

Being centrally located in the Heart of Bergen's historic place, the hostel is very easily reached. Rooms weren't large enough for 6 ppl. Best part of the hostel is the balcony on the 4th floor. They have a large dining room and equipped kitchen which is an important part as the restaurant food is expensive in Norway. They do not have a 24hr reception, so if you are arriving after the normal working hours be prepared to face a closed reception counter.

Travelling alone and wanted a bit more of a social scene, this place didn't deliver, maybe it was wrong time of year. Apart from that location was good (apart from being in the junkie area) it was close to airport bus stop and centre. Wanted to book on the Norway in a nutshell tour, asked reception and they didn't know where else I could book last minute apart from information centre (which was closed) and didn't really offer any suggestions. Luckily I went to train station early and could book

We had a very good night, good beds, super silent hostel and quite clean ! The location i just perfect and the staff was very nice. Our only problem was the shower : or freezing cold or boiling hot, but impossible to have a normal temperature.

We sincerely enjoyed our time at the Bergen YMCA Youth Hostel. We stayed in a four person room. It was so nice to have our own bathroom, and that room also had a small kitchen area - stove, sink and fridge. We felt very safe and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again!

Liked the location. My room smelled quite badly, unsure whether it was someone's food that they were cooking in the kitchen or my roommate but it was pretty gross.

Great hostel. The dorm rooms were a bit small (I stayed in a four-bed dorm), but that's generally to be expected if you're staying in a hostel. Can't beat the value in very-expensive Norway.
