We were 3 ladies put in a shared room with a male who seems to have a more or less permanent stay at the hostel. We dont comprehend that at all. VERY small room with a male stranger. On the top of that that male person had an alcohol problem which we experienced on our last night where we did not close an eye. He was farting, vomiting, making phonecalls, had a male visitor and tumbling around in his drunkenness. There is no staff to contact - only securitas to call. Very poor indeed!

Good hostel. 6 person dorm was quite small, but fine. Beds, bathroom and kitchen were good as well, nothing to complain about. A bit disappointing was that there were no working computers, but go to the University library in the centre and you have free internet in the entrance hall anyway :-).

I have no complain about the Hostel, it is great place to stay, location is excellent close to fish market and main station and information point. Staff is very friendly plus the organisation is amazing. Very warm rooms in winter and stunning cooking facilities.

There are a few hostels in Bergen and everyhtinh in the city is expensive. So YMCA hostel was a good average, the location was excellent (but the directions to get there a bit confused as I arrived during the night was an issue). The hostel was good in the average, with some facilities, but as the low season the sent me an email with codes, what to do and asking to pay in advance because I wouldnt meet anyone there due to theirs schedules in the winter, I thought it weird and confused, but ok!

Really one of the best hostels i've ever stayed in. Couldn't ask for a better location, just a couple of minute's walk from all the main attractions in the city. Our room was very clean, as were the sheets they provided. Very well-stocked kitchen too, and a nice dining area.

Tell guests to bring earplugs- I showed up here to get a good nights sleep and one of the people bunked in a room snored soo loud I was unable to sleep. Also no breakfast included not even coffee was a bit disappointing. For $50.00 a night I was not impressed

I feel such a shame to write this review coz i've done a mistake in reservation. I arrived at hotel at 27th sep instead of oct. But the hotel staff was really kind and helpful, I still got a bed and I really wanna to say thank you !!

The hostel is almost perfect, except that the shower is a bit annoying - after pressing a button the water comes out and runs for about 20 seconds, and then one needs to press the button again to get the water. So you have to press the button from time to time during the shower.

Fantastic location near Bryggen and the hill where you get a view of the city. Basic dorm rooms, nice to find a hostel with a kitchen. I was due to arrive after reception had closed for the evening, so the booking and payment procedure became a little protracted - it went smoothly enough, but would have been a hassle if I didn't have regular access to internet to book, find out I needed to pay in advance, pay, enquire about the late check-in procedure, get confirmation email and so on.

Boring so bring your own friends. Pretty clean and in a very central location. No lockers in dorms though, you can use the ones in the lobby which is very annoying and inconvenient. This place is more of a business than a hostel, so be prepared to have an old man in your room of young female travellers.

The kitchen was very old and small for the hostel capacity - you could hardly move when cooking at dinner time because it was crowded and there was just one stove working - the kitchen furniture is very very old and not enought for everybody -

Spent only one night there right after a fjord tour, but it looks a very good hostel... I had a very late check-in, and considering the reception close at 9pm, they sent me emails informing everything I need to do. I also met really nice people in this place. I would definetely go back there some day.
