This hostel is very clean and modern, however there was no common room. The only place to sit was the kitchenette. This place would only be suitable if you were planning to be out all day and it wasn't raining.

staff was excellent. the owner, the young guy who built the hostel speaks great english and is a very personable guy. also rest of the staff was very nice. encourtage people who go to ilha grande to climb parrots beak - not that hard and views are incredible. also hike to the waterfall. had great dorm mates who were all considerate.

Biergarten is definitely the best hostel you can get. It's clean, secure, well located, very comfortable, value and with a "pousada" breakfast. The people who work there are excellent and always happy to help. It has all those little things that make the big difference. Book in advance because it's always full!

Great crew and atmosphere. Super laid back, everyone's willing to help you.. In the heart of Villa do Abrao, location is privileged only a block from the main beach and right across a supermarket. Facilities are ok (no AC), private refrigerator for each room and the rooms and bathrooms are clean. In terms of safety they have lockers you use and there's a gateman during the night making sure no one breaks into the hostel. I highly recommend this Hostel if you are a low budget backpacker.

it was one of the best hostels I have ever been. It was made 1 year ago, so everything is new. It has two showers and one bath, but it is ok for the number of people that fit in the hostel. The location is excelent, close to the center area, and there is a market 3 blocks from it. The lockers are big so you can put all your luggages inside. It has a restaurant (meal per kg) downstairs, is not expensive and there is a discount if you sleep in the hostel. The only bad thing: kitchen is small.

Really nice hostel and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was really good and the dinner at the restaurant below was the best I had on the island! As it is a small hostel, there is a nice atmosphere and everyone is very friendly. It is also right in the middle of everything so you don~t have too far to walk. I would definitely recommend staying here

Overall great hostel. Very clean, which is extremely hard to find on the island. Really helpful staff and nice place to come back to after a night out as is generally pretty quiet after 11 (also very rare on Ilha Grande). Buffet downstairs at the restaurant is also pretty awesome and really good value. Probably one of the best hostels I have stayed at on my trip!
