I liked the Biergarten hostel very much. The staff helped me by many questions. But when it rains it can happen, that there is no light and Internet.

The hostel's hostess, Paula, is very bubbly and was extremely helpful when we accidentally booked for the wrong night. We were offered an upgraded private bedroom in the second location with ensuite for the same price and then moved back to the main hostel at our request into a private room with shared bathroom facilities. It was very clean, provided blankets and towels. The shared bathroom had one WC and two private shower rooms with plenty of hot water. Great bar and lovely place

Booked 2 beds in a 6 bed female dorm and 1 in a 4 bed mixed dorm. Female dorm, was really spacious and airy, with ensuite. Mixed dorm was on the small side. Good location a few minutes walk from beach. Good atmosphere at bar, with live music provided some nights. Good cooking facilities. Staff were helpful with explaining trekking routes around the island. Overall a good hostel.

Everything was great but wifi didn't work while time I was there.

We had a pleasant stay at Biergarten Hostel. Breakfast was good, facilities quite new and mostly clean. Food in restaurant next to hostel was very good. The only concern was behavior of one of the person from staff (tall guy wearing glasses). He attacks verbally and very nasty one of our friends after he tried to use common computer while internet wasn't working. He assumed that our friend "killed internet for good". In next days that was the story for other tourists! Very unprofessional...

Cleanest hostel with great staff. Shame the wifi was put most of the time.

A great, friendly hostel with a brilliant, lively atmosphere! The staff were always willing to help and booked us on the half island tour which was amazing. The two kitchens are well equipped and so clean, as were the bathrooms and dorms too. Good big lockers and powerful air con. And the breakfast was delicious too!!

Had a great time at this hostel due to the social atmosphere and meeting a great bunch of people from around the world. Would definetly recommend to stay here as it is one of the funnest hostels I have been to in S. A.

Pretty great hostel overall, very clean and nice atmosphere. The only negative aspect would be the bar tender, who was a bit rude and inattentive, that is if you're not a single woman.

I loved it !! Everybody speaks english, they are super welcoming, super clean hotel, wellsituated ( 5 min walking form the beach) ! Pretty and prefect thank you guysss xxxx

This is a great hostel on an amazing island! It has everything you need and a good breakfast. My only criticism is the bar man. He's the grumpiest most miserable you will ever meet. Then when he shuts the bar he decides to go and use the hostel computer to Skype his girlfriend at midnight speaking at the top of his voice outside the dorm rooms.

Great hostel with very helpful staff. Chilled vibe, the bartender was a little weird and definitely inappropriate toward women. Rooms were big, beds comfortable, and air conditioning good. Bathrooms varied from nice and large in some dorms, to horrible and sized for infants in other parts. Overall a good hostel and a short walk to the main port/street. Try the crepes to the right when you exit the hostel.

The room downstairs is very noisy, and there is a direct light on the porch shining inside when the light are on making it difficult to sleep it would be a great help to add curtains on the Windows. The lamps on the bed are a nice thought but they do not work as you cannot plug them - the lead is too short . Would be great to let everyone know about the ac at the reception as well as about the eggs in the morning as me and my roommates only rediscovered it the day after. Cheers

I had a good time there. We stayed in an ensuite private room. There was a lot of space and they cleaned the room everyday. The hostel also has a nice atmosphere at night. I would stay there again.

One of the best hostels I stayed in S. America. I stayed 3 nights but wanted to stay longer. The 6 bed female dorm ensuite was very spacious with very nice bathroom. Paula was awesome and super helpful. Bartender also very nice and sociable who typically takes people to the party after -Acuario! Atmosphere is great, very chill and relaxed vibe, great for meeting other travelers. The buffet restaurant is pretty good and convenient. Wifi was excellent. Would definitely stay here again :)

Amazing place, beautiful, peaceful and extremely-well organised. Victor is a great guy. To put it short: the best experience Ilha Grande can offer!

I stayed four days at the hostel and only have good things to say. The athmosphere was great, the comum area was really enjoyable, the staff very helpfull. The breakfast could be a bit better, but other than that, I have no complains at all, going back at new years.

My first time in a hostel and Im really surprised with the infra-structure. Well located, friendly people and also clean. Definetly I intend to back.

We enjoyed our short stay at Biergarten. The weather in Ilha Grande was pretty crappy while we were there - We would have enjoyed our stay a little more if the hostel had organised an event of some sort to entertain the guests while there wasn't a whole lot to do on the island. The pay by weight restaurant at the front of the hotel is great!

Veey good for the football if theres a game you wabt to catch.
