I loved my stay at the Big Apple Hostel! The staff was very friendly and I formed real friendships with the people I met there. My stay in and impression of Istanbul were greatly amplified by my experience at this hostel; lost my wallet the first day and Rıdvan helped me get it back, which I cannot thank him enough for. The rooms are simple & nice. The breakfast is delicious and was unexpectedly diverse. The terrace has great character and is so much fun. Stay here! You wont regret it :)

Great hostel, more like a hotel. But be careful with the shuttle from the hotel to the airport. They quoted on price and did a private shuttle instead of the 15 lira shuttle bus companies, even though we specifically asked for those. Ended up spending 25 lira. The rooms are very clean and modern and the breakfast room has an amazing view of the river. Be sure to have a print out of your presentation as well because we arrived and had booked 4 rooms but they said we only had 3.

If you are looking for a good night of sleep, a perfect location and a really great free breakfast: that's Big Apple. It is located less than 300m from Hagia Sophia and 50m from a street full of restaurants and bars... We have stayed in a 3-bed private room which was good and clean. The staff is friendly and helped us a lot. Not a party hostel. Point to be improved: Wi-Fi...the signal sometimes didn't work inside the bedroom. We would stay here again... thanks Big Apple staff!!!

I am so glad that we chose Big Apple Hostel, it was amazing. Their airport pickup service was great, considering our flight got in late at night. Arriving in the hostel we were greeted by the hospitable staff and shown our room which was very clean and a fine size for 6 people. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and the staff was extremely helpful in tourist recommendations. The bathrooms could have been a bit better along with the blankets supplied but overall it was an amazing stay!

Not really good hostel but reasonal price could be competitive, only if you are not consider the cleanliness :-P. breakfast is better than good. Location good. Staff are helpful. But wifi is not for every guest room. And electric plugged for you recharging is not used in the room. All guest share few power socket may one or two? in robby.

I really enjoyed our stay at Big Apple Hostel. The most interesting part was drinking efes pilsen beer at the terrace on the top of the hostel and sharing experiences with people from all over the world. The staff was really helpful and we got all the information we asked for. The sheets and the bathrooms were clean. Our room was a little bit small for 6 people, but we needed it only for sleeping so it wasn't a big deal. Hope you'll enjoy staying at Big Apple Hostel as much as we did.

Location, location, location! This hostel is only a hundred meters or so from the blues mosque, perfect location. Restaurant row is even closer. I planned to have them pick me up at the airport, but could not figure out how to find them. The 6 bed dorm was clean, although not dark. 2 showers, 2 toilets on our floor. There was only one outlet in the room (boo) but it had a 1-3 adapter (yay) but the way it was put in, a bunk blocked 2 of the outlets (boo). I switched it so you can use 2.

Great location 5 minutes walking from the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia! One of the guys there even guided us on a night time tour of Taksim for free. Everyone is extremely friendly, breakfast is delicious, and the view from the terrace is great. For $15 a night, impossible to beat.

When I arrived in Istanbul, I easily found my way from the airport to the Big Apple Hostel with their directions. My room was clean and quiet, and the shower was hot and refreshing. Breakfast was wonderful with a wide variety of both Turkish and traditional food. The staff was very helpful with suggestions on what to see and do. I returned to the hostel after my tour of Central Turkey, and returned again for another night on my way back home. I was very happy with my stay at the Big Apple.

THE LOCATION IS RIGHT IN THE OLD TOWN DOWN THE STREET FROM THE BLUE MOSQUE AND THE HADYA SOFIA. RESTAURANTS AND SHOPS ARE IN ABUNDANCE. THE HOTEL STAFF IS FRIENDLY AND KNOWLEDGABLE! ONLY A QUICK TAXI RIDE TO TAXIM AND ACCESSIBLE WITH THE TRAIN/TRAM TO/FROM THE AIRPORT. I ENJOYED MY STAY IN BIG APPLE AND WILL RETURN THIS SUMMER!!
