The place seems to have gone dramatically backwards in the last six years. It was particularly unpleasant to hear the manager (?) and staff complaining about other members of staff in a public space. Very bad style. Also, it seems to have become more expensive, whilst the building becomes more run-down looking.

The hostel has the perfect location, close to everything, but far away from the noise. The staff is unbeliable, very helpful and friendly. People hang out by the pool/bar/pool table, so it´s really easy to meet people and they also offer info on many tours around cape town (I recommend the wine tour with Cape to Grape, awesome guide!)My room (twin beds) was really spacious & confortable. Suggestions for improvement: buy better knifes for the kitchen and maybe consider adding a laundry room.

Except from the receptionists and people cleaning the rooms, staff members were very unfriendly. The dog made a big mess in the kitchen, something must be done to avoid this. The dead cockroaches in the bathrooms do not really help the feeling of cleanliness...
