I stayed here for 2 days. It located in right next to praia dona ana beach and only takes 5 minutes on foot to praia do camilo. But it is far away from bus terminal(30 minutes on foot) and 15-20 minutes to town. The room is a bit cold and has a single bed sheet. There was extra blanket in closet but it was messy with someone's hair and dust. Bathroom was clean and hot water available all time.

Had a good stay here. Next to beach and about a 5 minute walk to town. Big lounge with cable tv. Friendly host

Was a bit odd due to there being so few people, but that is just because of the time of year I guess. Lee was very friendly, and it was good being very close to the beach!

Great atmosphere, good place for solo travelers to meet people. The location by the beach is nice as there's not a whole lot to do in the town anyway. Try the kayaking, its worth it. The staff is great, just don't ask Katie too many questions, it addles her brains.

Really fun hostel and great staff! This is the hostel for you if you like to go out and make new friends. Thanks for the great time!

The hostel was a little bit further from the center, but for the rest I cannot complain. The atmosphere was really good and I enjoyed my stay there.

was only planning on staying for two nights in the city, but ended up staying for 8!! the weather was awesome, which meant that the short, few minute walk to the beach from the hostel was perfect! a ten minute walk from old town wasnt too far for the night life either. this place is super chill, and katie, lee, and their volunteer matt are the best. definitely recommend this hostel!

Had a great time and met wonderful people! Would love to come back one day!

Clean hostel with two kitchens... A little bit out off town(10-15 min walk), but extremely close to the beach! A supermarket was about 500 mtrs away.... Do the kayak tour they have to offer, it's unreal

Great stay. Good People

Our overall feeling was great. Is was little weird that none of the staff speaks Portuguese (we're Brazilian) and we had a little cleaning problem with the shared bathroom upstairs - in the first day it was nasty, in the second was better but the floor kept dirty (unconfortable when you have to get dressed inside the bathroom after shower). For a hostel, nothing terrible, but it could get better with a little more attention.

We have been backpacking and staying in hostels for a bit and this was by far our best experience. The atmosphere is great and friendly. Katy (staff) made our stay - she went above and beyond to make sure everyone was comfortable and having a good time. She was amazing and made our stay at BIG CHILL so enjoyable. We would recommend this hostel to anyone - it was clean, great location, lots of fun and very homey. We will be back!!!! Thanks so much for everything Katy and big chill!
