We stayed two days in this hostel. The location is great, because it is near to the beach and the cliffs. The owner, Paolo, is very kind and speaks Spanish, German, English, Italian, French and Portuguese fluently and cares very good for his guests.

This affordable hostel is a short walk away from the city center making it more ideal for travellers looking for a more "chilled out" atmosphere. A short trot to one of the more private beaches

Awesome place, awesome people. A bit of a walk from the bus station (15 odd min, so maybe stump up for a cab if your not down for a short walk!)

Overall we had a good stay. We had a room on the newly added ground floor and it still smelled a bit like paint. When the one guy on staff was around he was helpful in giving us ideas of things to do, but they clearly needed more workers around. The cleanliness was not bad, but I don't think the washrooms or kitchen was cleaned once while we were there. Nice patios and close to the beach.

The Big Chill was one of the best hostels I stayed at during the two weeks I travelled. Paulo (the hostel manager) is very welcoming. He will make you feel right at home. The hostel is very clean, has a great common room and a nice kitchen to use. The location couldn't be better. The beach and the hiking paths for the cliffs are literally two minutes to get to and it is a 10 minute walk to the center of town. It also is right beside a local bar which has graat drinks + awesome food.

- nice kitchen - close to the beaches, - ~10 minutes walk to the center - at night, room was a little cold and humid - no hooks in the bathroom to hold stuff

Great hostel in a prime location to visit some of the best beaches in Lagos. The roof-top terrace is amazing and Paulo is an excellent host willing to answer any questions and give advice about what to see in Lagos. Would definitely recommend this hostel!

The walk here from the bus station takes about 25 minutes and winds through several completely unlit streets - so if you're a single girl traveling alone with an enormous backpack, try not to arrive after sunset. Internet was down, which would've been fine if the staff had just apologized and given me good directions to the closest wi-fi - but instead the guy kept telling me he was trying to "fix" it. Hostel depends on warm weather and drinking, so it feels a bit desolate in the off season.

Was really hard to find. We found that the directions were not quite accurate. would be really nice in the summer, the set up isn't great during the rain. For our room we had to go outside to get to the bathroom.

I stayed there for 2 nights---great memories! Thank you Paulo and the other guys I met there. It was a bit far away from the centre of the city but walking back to the centre just took me like 15 minutes so no big deal. Definitely suggest.

The hostel was set near to the beach and pont due piedade but out of the main town. Surrounding area does look a bit rundown but there are nice trees and views so whether location is good or bad depends on what matters to you. I had a good stay here and the host is friendly and helpful. Downsides were drafts in house causing doors to shudder with breeze and also the cold at night in winter. blankets insufficient.

The place was great but what really made my stay at lagos was the people i met. Because the hostel is small the eight people that were there were all able to get to know eachother and the bar right across the street followed by a long night at Shakers downtown (where the bartenders get at least as drunk as you will) provide an ideal evening, believe me.

Cold at night, everything else was good.

Great place. Really close to the beach and famous cliffs of Lagos. Few minute walk into town. Amazing pub right next door where the guy who runs the hostel loves to take you. Very friendly and helpful guy who runs the hostel.

This hostel is great and I highly recommend it to anyone staying in Lagos. The staff is awesome, the rooms are clean and nice. There's a big common room with tv, playstation, darts, and more. Plus the location is unbeatable for seeing the beauty of Lagos.
