Was a bit odd due to there being so few people, but that is just because of the time of year I guess. Lee was very friendly, and it was good being very close to the beach!

Great atmosphere, good place for solo travelers to meet people. The location by the beach is nice as there's not a whole lot to do in the town anyway. Try the kayaking, its worth it. The staff is great, just don't ask Katie too many questions, it addles her brains.

The hostel was a little bit further from the center, but for the rest I cannot complain. The atmosphere was really good and I enjoyed my stay there.

was only planning on staying for two nights in the city, but ended up staying for 8!! the weather was awesome, which meant that the short, few minute walk to the beach from the hostel was perfect! a ten minute walk from old town wasnt too far for the night life either. this place is super chill, and katie, lee, and their volunteer matt are the best. definitely recommend this hostel!

Clean hostel with two kitchens... A little bit out off town(10-15 min walk), but extremely close to the beach! A supermarket was about 500 mtrs away.... Do the kayak tour they have to offer, it's unreal

Great stay. Good People

Our overall feeling was great. Is was little weird that none of the staff speaks Portuguese (we're Brazilian) and we had a little cleaning problem with the shared bathroom upstairs - in the first day it was nasty, in the second was better but the floor kept dirty (unconfortable when you have to get dressed inside the bathroom after shower). For a hostel, nothing terrible, but it could get better with a little more attention.

We have been backpacking and staying in hostels for a bit and this was by far our best experience. The atmosphere is great and friendly. Katy (staff) made our stay - she went above and beyond to make sure everyone was comfortable and having a good time. She was amazing and made our stay at BIG CHILL so enjoyable. We would recommend this hostel to anyone - it was clean, great location, lots of fun and very homey. We will be back!!!! Thanks so much for everything Katy and big chill!

Love love love the place! Only a stones throw from the beaches and stunning cliff walks. ten minute walk into the old town where you'll find an endless choice of restaurants to dine at / or pubs and clubs to go party in until the Crack of dawn. Lee the manager of the Big Chill was very helpful and super friendly and made everyone feel at home! Can't wait to go back!!

We really liked our stay at the Big Chill Hostel. The staff was very nice, the beds comfortable and there's also breakfast included. Bathrooms were clean and it's located next to the beach (3 min walk). I'll go back there next time I'll be in Lagos.

If you're looking for an amazing hostel, this is it! Sure, it's a little out of the way, but you're way closer to the beaches. The wonderful manager, Lee, makes sure that you are enjoying your time in the hostel. Rooftop patios, big comfy main room, clean kitchens, there is tons of space in this hostel! What we particularly enjoyed about this hostel was the fact that it gave you the option to party all you want in the city, but come back to an quiet, calm neighborhood. The LAF Canadians :)

nice hostel there where just a coulpe of things that where bad like the showers and and lockers

Someone (coming back from partying) left the door open all Saturday night which was annoying. The staff/owner are very party party which is great at night but leads to a slightly inefficient hostel. Also, they do not accept credit cards, which they did not tell us until the last minute, so we had to go withdraw money at night to pay. However, my experience there was still very enjoyable and I would recommend this hostel to a friend. It certainly deserves it's name of Big Chill.
