Amazing hostel! The staff are very kind and receptive. Besides, there're a lot of maps and folders available to the guests. Located in the heart of Budapest, good directions on the website for those who come from aiport, bus or train. Seascape decoration in all the acomodations turns the place comfortable and homy. Free wi-fi and for those who doesn't have an internet connection device, there're computers availables. If you are in doubt, I totally recommend Big Fish, you won't regret.

A VERY VERY clean hostel - includes toilets and rooms. Staff were genuinely friendly and were informative and helpful. Location wise - about 15mins walk from the train station - although you could take a tram for a short journey to get to the hostel faster. Within walking distance to most of the main tourist sites. Money changer just 2 minutes away that has relatively good exchange rates (to Hungarian forints).

We thought the hostel was fantastic. Very helpful staff that gave us good recommendations for dinner etc. The only downside was food and drink which was labelled etc was taken out of the fridge and used by other hostel guests. Obviously this is not the hostel's fault, just part of backpacking. We were also staying in an 8 person dorm which was quite noisy at times. Obviosuly the point here is that the hostel was great, bathrooms really clean, beds comfy and living area very welcoming.

Big Fish was exactly what I needed coming to Budapest. After spending time in the over-crowded and party-centered hostels in Prague, Big Fish felt like going home. The heated floors and the comfy beds were very much appreciated, especially because I wasn't feeling so hot at the time. The free tea & coffee was also a plus, great communal lounge and small, intimate vibe. Would definitely recommend & return.

Big Fish Hostel is located seriously a 5 minute walk from Octogon where you can catch the underground or easily walk to the city center in no time at all. The staff were more than helpfull with everything and on New Years eve before going out to enoy the events, the staff treated us to some traditional Hungarian food there in the Hostel. Big Fish offers a nice and comfortable place to relax after a long day in the city and it is also located right next to the theater. Katalin is the best BTW

We stayed there over new years and it was great. Staff is very helpfull and friendly. Rooms are also nice and clean and there is enough bathrooms for everyone. It almost felt like home. There are also 2 free computers to use and free wifi. Location in exellent It is one one of the main Budapest steets and everything is in walking distance. And if you want to go a bit further there is a metro station close by. If you want to visit Budapest I recmed this hostel. Anze (Slovenia)

Big Fish Hostel is THE hostel that I liked the most during my christmas trip in East Europe. Really clean rooms, lots of open spaces, comfortable beds, huge kitchen with a living room that has a PS3/PC/DVD player. The staff, well, the girls are really awesome to live with, to talk with and to party with. The hostel is situated downtown!! Even though it's an unpronouncable language, Hungarian, Budapest and the Big Fish Hostel are definitly the place to be if you travel by this country.

This was definitely one of the best hostels I have ever stayed in. It's social enough for people that want to party but chilled out enough for those that need peace and quiet. I love the way it's been decorated and could not fault the cleanliness. Staff are knowledgeable and will go out of their way to help you. No breakfast included - but a great kitchen and free filtered coffee more than make up for that!
