Awesome staff and location! I had planned to stay in Budapest for 3 days but had so much fun decided to extend to 5. If I'm every back in Budapest Big Fish is the Hostel for me.

I loved staying at this hostel. All of the staff live in the hostel and made me feel so welcome. They also organized a pub crawl type night where we met up with some people from other hostels in the area. Everyone was very friendly/helpful. I would have given this hostel all excellents except the beds were pretty hard and flat. But staying at a hostel I didnt expect to much. I would definitely stay there again. I loved it!

Stayed for 3 nights in a 4 bed dorm. Room was spacious and everything was clean. Staff was very helpful (really there for you in the middle of the night to help to cope with terribly snoring room mates)

BF is probably the best hostel I've stayed at during my travels. The staff was super friendly, polite and helpful. The hostel is super homey and colorful. They have a legit coffee machine and fancy teas, so take advantage of that! Beds are comfy, and rooms are not crammed like in other hostels, so you've plenty of space and your own HUGE locker. There are plenty of outlets, and even computers you can use. It's super clean and there's lots of bathrooms! Overall, amazing! Will definitely come back!

Could not have not have been a more helpful or friendly staff. My shower experience was better than my home stay family haha. They're a bit earthy crunchy but its such a chill environment and you can meet people if you want or keep to yourself. Definitely recommend it for Budapest. Also next to a tram and walking distance from andassy way a Main Street.

Probably my favorite hostel I have been in thus far. The staff is wonderful and the facilities are great. It would have been an easy place to stay in for an extended period. Perfect place to stay and explore Budapest from.

Very quaint hostel with only a small number of beds. Has a lot of long term residents, but all were very friendly and welcoming. The pub crawl that they organized was a blast. Very homey feel to the place. Definitely would recommend.

By far one of the best hostels I've ever stayed at. The staff are super friendly (and know how to cook!), the beds are comfortable, the bathrooms and kitchen are clean - really no reason to complain at all. Big Fish is close to most shops and within walking distance of the popular tourist sights and popular bars in the Jewish quarter. I'll definitely stay here again when I come back to Budapest!

The room was too close to the staff who was making noises every night so it was too noisy.

Very nice, clean and cheap ! However, if you chose the dorms, keep in mind that some of yours roommates are supposed to snore... !! :(((

I didn't like the fact that the staff sleep in the same room with guests. They had no respect with us, entering and leaving from the room all the time making noise. And early in the moorning one person from the staff came screeming and waking us up (for all the vacation... every day!)... The staff used also to get drunk all night and put loud music with some guests, but there were also other guests that wanted to sleep! The staff people should be the ones to put order in the hostel!

A hostel full of character! The common room is great for cooking, watching movies, meeting other travelers. Very clean, especially the bathrooms. Highly recommend to lone travelers because its easy to meet people in this smaller hostel. Slightly more pricey than other hostels in the area, but worth it. And the staff is warm, helpful, and an integral part of the atmosphere!

Staying in Big Fish Hostel was an amazing experience, wake up and sit at the common hall just waiting for someone new to entry and start a conversation. The staff was fantastic, gave me awesome tips for amazing ruin bars, everything was clean and tidy. Definitely going to come back.

This is one of the best hostels I've stayed in and would stay again and recommend for sure. The only problem I encountered was the shower behind the reception area wasn't great, kept going between hot and cold (although I remember after reading someone else mentioned this as well). Stick to the two at the other end as they were both warm all the time. A nice hostel with great staff, always up for a chat and a drink....if you want :-)
