In general is an optimal solution for visiting Manaus and to choose among the various tour options Amazonian of an agency, very close to the properties of Big hostel. There is no breakfast,no coffee, sugar, salt or oil. Each laundry machine costs 15 reais and cloths should be hung out to dry in awkward positions! They were kind to cancel my last reservation because they were widely available and they charged me only a third of the price! The wi fi is working only on the upper floors! Good few days...

Hello my name is Austin from Oklahoma, U.S.A and I must say that Big hostel is an amazing establishment that really has an awesome sense of genuine hospitality along with great accommodations and is located in a convenient/safe area. The building itself is very unique and is surrounded by a beautiful well maintained park. Big hostel is very very well maintained and cleaned thoroughly on a daily basis and I can honestly say that it’s the tidiest hostel I’ve ever been to. 100% rating/recommend

Dorm rooms are cramped, with little space for backpacks. Rooms have a/c but only until around 8am, then it's turned off and the rooms get really hot. There are no lockers in the dorms, only near reception. No breakfast included (strange for Brazil). Upstairs shared shower is hot, but downstairs are cold only. The staff are friendly and helpful. Downstairs common area is quite nice but wifi doesn't reach there. 10 min walk to the opera house and square.

The hostel is very disorganized. I paid the hostel for 4 days and in the third day when I came back from my jungle tour all my baggage was in the living room. They said I didin't pay and I had to show the hostel world confirmation booking again to confirme my payment. I found disrespectful what they did with my stuffs. They mixed dirty shoes and wet clothes with clean clothes and left in the living room without security.

Definitely recommend the Big Hostel Brazil, very nice facilities with very nice wooded area. The staff are very attentive and helpful. The rooms and bathrooms very clean. Is not located in a very safe area if you're alone and want to walk Manaus at night, but if you're in a group is a good place to stay.

Pros: Location. Good internet. Nice kitchen with garden. Amazing family that owns/runs the hostel and wonderful staff. Very helpful: they tried very hard to help me maximize my time there. Cons: while the rooms were very clean, the bathrooms could use some more attention every now and then.

Muito bom. Dona e funcionários muito simpáticos. Acredito que o único problema que é ter apenas dois banheiros sera resolvido com a reforma que estão fazendo.

The hostel was clean. The desk was open 24-7. The guy working spoke great english and even let us use his phone to track down some lost items. They also moved our reservation over by a night when our flight got delayed. Breakfast was basic (toast and melted cheese with eggs if you like) but acetone was very helpful. Wifi was great. I definitely recommend.

Very nice hostel - clean and fresch. One of their staf spoke great ENglish and was very helpful, the others were more difficult to communicate with, but were friendly but little weird. They have a supercute kitten who is very young at the moment. The breakfast was good (bread, cake, banana, juice, coffee). They did not have computers to use for the guests, but I could borrow the reception laptop when i needed. I missed them not having a book-swap-shelf.

Well, this hostel is not that close to the Teatro Amazonas, but is very clean and the staff is quite nice :). The breakfast is ok, thought i didn´t find the bathrooms very special nor very privative.

Well, I stayed already a couple of times in Manaus in overpriced hotels. This time I decided to stay in a hostel and right so. Safety, sefcurity, cleanliness and the staff are great! Like 500 m from Avenida Getulio Vargas its a bit away from the heavy traffic and sorrounded by a new park. I had a very enjoyable stay and can highly recommend this place. Regarding value for money: well, Manaus is more expensive compared to other cities, but the dorms have a good size, windows and Air-conditioning.

Great time there, Thanks

Blankets were very small and thin. There was very little common space to relax/socialize.

This was the best value for money hostel I´ve ever stayed in. Location is very central, staff and owers very friendly and helpful, very new and very clean facilities, and they prized the security and family friendliness of the hostel. I took the bus there, and it went there easily straight from the airport, so no need to spend on taxis. Will definetely stay agin on my return to Manaus.

Lovely friendy new hostel went out their way to accommodate. Definitely recommend great location and lovely patio.

Very clean, good breakfast, secure, friendly staff!

I came in late at night due to flight and left at 8:30 in the morning to go for my tour. The desk clerk didn't speak much English, but Google Translate was very helpful. The juice they served during breakfast was very good.

This was by far the best hostel I have ever been at. Amazing staff, super new, nothing old or broke, everything clean. I can only reccommend this to everybody. Go there, check it out!!

A brand new hostel in Manaus, very clean, with all the facilities you need and the best is, that the owners are making your stay very comfortable!!! We spent already some days in other hostels in Manaus and this one is really the bes option!!!
