Clean room, clean bathroom and decent amount of space. The best thing is the location of this hostel, walking distance from the central station and Hay market. Breakfast was not that good, but manageable.

I booked for 4 nights, only I'm still here after one week and I'm staying in total 11 nights! The atmosphere is great. I'm 28 so I don't like an hostel with 18years old public who comes for drinking and party. Here you find people searching for a job, or having a job or real passioned travellers. Easy t make contact and great helpfull staff. My trip will end in about 3 mnths and I'm sure that I will spend my last nights in Big Hostel again.

The free wi-fi was a real bonus and, as this was my first hostel experience, I will definately stay again.

Hi, squeaky bunks is an ongoing problem but we can improve them so we will, all locks are functioning again, glad you enjoyed the stay :)

This hostel was exactly what I needed - a bed in the city centre. Its location was amazing - 6 mins from Central Station, and no distance from all the shops and Hyde Park. Perfect for stopping over for a sightseeing trip, but I can't comment on how it would be longer term. Bathroom was clean and room was pristine. I would stay here again if stopping in Sydney.

I do not like the huge television in the common area. I think that it discourages human interaction by the way it dominates the room.

Big Hostel is in a great location close to Central station. Felt like many people staying there were living there. Of the few backpackers that were there, many had moved to this hostel saying it was cleaner than other ones they had stayed at.

Totally OK hostel! I can recommend it. Location is alright. Not far too the main train station and the goerge street with some pubs can be easily walked to. The free tram stops at the front of the hostel. Cleanliness could be better. The kitchen area is a bit small. But kitchen and sitting area is quiet nice.

Me and my friend stayed in a private double room for 4 nights and it was great! The bathroom was surprisingly clean and quite modern and the room itself was perfect for what we needed. The staff were very friendly and positive and the whole place had a very laid back feel. Would highly recommend it!

Stayed in an 8 bed room with your basic needs, room had lockers for safety. And brekkie has included too! Only had one dislike, the showers were never cleaned. Used the same shower and it always had clumps of hair from the previous days!!

The staff at Big Hostel were extremely friendly and helpful. I was going to be moving to the city and they were very patient and encouraging. The hostel itself was nice, usually a large group of people in the common area, watching a movie or just hanging out. The room was simple but had all the necessities.

I liked the hostel. The room was nice and big enough and it was clean too. I guess the bathroom was clean too, even when it didn't really look like that. Definitely the amount of showers per level was not enough. The staff was great and so helpful with all our questions and bookings and everything. And also the location was ok. It is really close to the Central station and just 5-10 minutes to the city center.

The bathrooms and dorms need a serious scrub. Too many people. Kitchen too small for amount of people. Bedbugs. Some staff tried to help, others didn't care, in general noone took the situation serious enough to really do something about it. Did not like it, will not return!

The location of the hostel was good, but the best thing was the sosial area with kitchen and tv room where everybody was hanging out. Otherwise hostel was filthy, there were cockroaches, rats, bedbugs and so one...bathrooms were digusting, used condoms lyin around and we stayed there for a while and we didn´t see any cleaning happening. When we foud bedbugs the staff wasn´t helping us, they only blaimed us for bringing those there. The manager was nice, and she helped out.

We stayed in the private rooms, and they were really good and quiet. The bathrooms were clean, the beds comfy, and the towels changed every two days! It was almost as good as staying in a hotel. The only thing missing was a mini fridge in the room. The free breakfast was ok, although the tables were often a little crowded between 9AM-10AM and it was hard to find a place to sit, but still, a free breakfast in a hostel is a huge plus side! We would definitely recommend this hostel!

The fact that you could not see outside from the window of the room was a minus and the internet seemed to be very slow (in fact I could not use it with my mobile). On the positive side, the staff were very nice, sheets and toilets nice and clean (ensuite) and the breakfast was a nice "surprise"!
