It was a great place to stay. I got told about the best things to do in Bali, I got help with renting a scooter and great people were around. It was properly the longest week in my life in a very positive way, and made a perfect last week of traveling for 1 year.

Big Pineapple became my home for a while. There is everything you need as its not far from the shops or the beach. The place is cosy and the staff are friendly. Mia (owner) is a legend and very helpful. She will be honest with any questions you might have. I would recommend this place for sure as its one of few places around here that are low price. I would suggest putting a soap dispenser or something in the toilets though... (hygiene/cleanliness etc). Thanks guys x

This hostel is a great value for your money, much better than the hotel I've stayed the previous night. Mia is very very helpful and accommodating. Met some interesting people there.

Very, very relaxed. I had a great time there. Everything really clean. Met a lot of good people. Only real negative being the adrenalin fix crossing of the main highway to get to beach/ shops/ places to eat.

Stayed here for two nights and wish that I hadn't. Despite the common areas being fantastic with a pool and a kitchen the beds were sooo infested with bed bugs! Unfortunatly I didnt check the first night and upon inspection the second realized they were in all the beds of my dorm. Asked to change rooms and same was in the other rooms. Such a pain to have to get rid of them....

Owner Comment (Show)
Jessica, you arrived with bites on your arm.You then went around with a torch, looking everwhere and I came with you.You could not find any bedbugs. Please do not make stories like this.We wonder who sent you? Mia

Had a very enjoyable 3 day stay here at the end of my time in Bali. I really like Sanur for just chill'in and people generally leave you alone (unlike Kuta, etc). Big Pineapple was very friendly and I met some very nice people there. The staff were very helpful and the facilities are really good (loads of movies for when it rains, full kitchen, lockers - you'll need a padlock, wifi, etc). Takes 10 minutes to walk to the nearest end of Sanur main street and a little hard to find - needed 2 cabs !

Nice place, one of the cheaper options on Sanur and Bali for that matter, has a small but pleasant pool. Bit expensive for a hostel though that doesnt include breakfast. Nice lounge area with TV and loads of movies to watch, easy to meet people.

I came to the Pineapple last year and really had a great time. This year its even better with more places to sit and meet new friends.I am still in contact with friends I met last year at Pineapple. If you are holidaying by yourself this is the only place to start your bali trip.

This is a nice place with friendly people and relaxed atmosphere. My room has no air-con, but I find the 2 wall fans sufficient. Room is generally clean but outdoor areas may have plant debris after a rain or strong winds. The hostel is in a quiet neighbourhood with no shops nearby. The shopping street is a 10-15 min walk and the beach another 5 min. The highway (Ngurah Rai Bypass) is less than a min away, so I could easily go to Denpasar, Tanah Lot, Uluwatu, etc with a rented motorbike.

The room with no window no AC.Water in the swimming pool seems like not change for a long time. There is a fierce big black dog not tight up in the yard.when I arrived, there is no staff no security at the reception desk,so I was bitten by the dangerous black dog. It's really a horrible experience and a nightmare,I'll never forget that!! The master of the hostel didn't note the guests that they have a big dangerous dog after the kitchen's door and they even didn't want to take the responsibility !

Yes sometimes we get a real weirdo stay here. The dog was locked with a KEY in a cage. But some Chinese just want to open every door and look. In 3 years no one has ever unlocked the cage for the dog which protects along the back boundary.I suppose if she went to the zoo she would want to open the Lions cage.We did however take her to the Hospital and we paid for everything. The room she stayed in does have windows. All other guests were amazed when she opened the dogs cage.Yes she was a real nightmare.

I really enjoyed staying here for the short time I did because it has a great atmosphere. The location leaves a lot to be desired as it isn't exactly on the beach and requires either a long walk or a death-defying highway crossing. The best part is really the outdoor facilities: nice pool, movie room, garden seats, etc. Great place to chill and meet other travelers!
