if you are older than 21 ask for a room in their side-building. Much cleaner and more relaxed.

The rooms were really small and hot. No a/c, and no space to keep my suitcase open.

the hostal was good, I stayed in two rooms, the first one pretty good but the other was a mess, smelled terrible. Some of the staff were completely bitter and hostile with the guests.

I loved this hostel. It felt like a home from home! Wifi worked! and there were computers to use for free. Each bunk had its own light and charge point - a big plus! Staff were friendly and helpful Would definitely recommend :o)

Good hostel overall. The staff was nice and helpful. Bathrooms clean enough. There was a nice pool in the middle of the hostel which was kinda cool but no real hang out area for socializing . Only a couple of small tables outside for smokers to smoke. Loads of nice restaurants and cafes in the area though

what I didn't like about the Billabong Gardens was that I couldn't check-in before 1.30pm, that's too late for a hostel, especially when they insist about people to leave at 9 in the morning.I was tired and just wanted to sleep, I had to do so on the couch in the TV room. the atmosphere was not at its best either but it could have been because of the bad weather on the days I stayed there.

The hostel was very clean and tidy. We stayed in a private room and got given fresh towels everyday but no cleaning. I would definately stay again but i do think its a bit expensive. The communal kitchen wasnt very clean and very small for a hostel, only one cooking station.
