Nice and simple hostel. Everything was clean, and the rooms being themed was a nice touch. Bit of a walk from main station

The staff were extremely helpful. Free towel offered, but it is too small for a normal person. You can rent a towel for €1 or €2. Not a party hostel. The Women Dorm has two outlets per bed cubicle. The other room I stayed in had three outlets per two beds, but two were used for reading lamps, so that was inconvenient. Free lockers with key access. No complaint on noise level. Breakfast is modest. Free spaghetti noodle pasta. Note on directions: "Hauptbahnhof" is abbreviated to "Hbf" on ticket.

The Hostel is okey. Clean enough, but only 2 small shower cabins.

I'm surprised how much I liked this hostel, even though it's rather plain (like a university dorm). There was alot of space in the rooms and hallways, and the common room was cozy. Breakfast was generous -- thanks for the muesli ! By the standards of other European cities it would seem too pricey, but by Cologne standards it was good value for money, given the location (near the Belgian quarter and shopping centers, but also not too far from the hip Ehrenfeld district.

Felt like home!

A very cosy hostel with it's own vibe. We arrived later then the reception was open but it was no problem to sort it out. showers and toilets were very clean compare to a lot of other hostels I have stayed in. Staff very helpful and nice.

except the location, everything is fine. but it is proper price. the most important thing is...bad location.

Good place to stay. I enjoyed my stay. Only neg was my bed had bugs

Great rooms but the overall decor badly needs an update - the kitchen facilities are good but old, and the hallway decorations are kitschy but a bit preschool. Bathrooms were good, except for occasional flooding from shower curtains not being positioned in the right place. Location was a bit out of the city centre but tram was incredibly close. Lots of supermarkets and stores around. Biggest complaint is the internet! Only available in rooms and very prone to dropping out/crawling speeds.

Nice hostel on the back edge of the main town. Walkable to main station in 20 minutes. Good hub for socialising and many areas nearby for eating and drinking. Close to park areas etc. Unfortunately no dryer, making it hard to stay one night and wash clothes. Only real area to dry clothes is on balcony where people smoke. Also found my locker could be opened by another key in my room and room door does not lock automatically to the outside meaning anyone can walk in and out. Which happ.

One of my favorite hostels in Europe. Such great people that I met there.

Should this hostel , in the near future, have a good Common lounge with a Television or a good Wifi connection for the guests to relax and enjoy their time at Black Sheep hostel, the rating will be better than at present. Hope the management look onto ways of improving the available facilities . Overall i am fairly satisfied of my stay at Black Sheeeeeeepp #{{}}{{}}#

This is a pretty small hostel which is nice and it's easy to get to know the others staying there. The facilities are pretty average as only 3 of 6 shower were functional and one of those was still broken. Otherwise it's a cute family kind of environment and enjoyable for a reasonable price and is close to everything around.

great stay!! laid back vibe, roomy beds. kitchen was a little dirty but well equipped. THANKS!

This was a nicer hostel that we stayed in. The staff was rather friendly and the atmosphere was pretty good. No complaints.

Very friendly staff, had a good stay thank you

Great hostel with a very friendly atmosphere. The breakfast is simple but much appreciated, and the common area/terrace are perfect for meeting people, playing games and so on. The hostel is a little way out from the centre, but it's quite a nice walk, or public transport is cheap and regular from Barbarossaplatz.

I stayed in the Women's Dorm. Really nice bunk beds, not too crowded and the rooms were clean. The staff was really nice and helpful. It's located out of the downtown area, but the walk is pretty easy. I had a great time staying there!

It would be better to have a small shelf on the wall inside the shower room so that people can have a place to put their shampoo, lotion...and stuff. Kitchen is nice:)

We had a good time at this hostel! It is quite small so it's very easy to make friends (really nice atmosphere!). The rooms are really nice (the beds are fantastic!) and each bed has its own sockets, that is useful to recharge mobile phones. Staff and breakfast were OK. The only con is price. We paid 20 euros per night and I think it's a bit too much for what the hostel offers.
