Very accommodating staff! Even though we had a late train and weren't staying the night they allowed us to chill out in the common room during late hours and keep our bags in the baggage room! Looks identical to the pictures on the Internet! Very satisfied with it being our first hostel experience ever. Thank you Black Swan :)

This is not a bad hostel. It's decently clean and looks modern. If you are looking for a quiet hostel to sleep in, then this is probably it for you. The only drawbacks are that the kitchen is closed at midnight, which is freaking early. Also, there is a no-drinking in the hostel policy, which they enforce (at least in the kitchen area), and there are cameras. You can get away with drinking in the rooms since there are no cameras, but still just very inconvenient. This is a goody-goody hostel...

Good hostel. Staff (Natalia and ola) very helpful. Natalia helped me organise restaurant bookings etc ahead of trip. They do like you to keep quiet at night because of neighbours, but not necessrily a problem. Good price, would recommend

Good location right by the arc. Large bedrooms (mine was 10/room) with only one set of showers and one set of bathrooms per gender, per building. Odd security-the staff had to let you in, but did not check to see if you were actually staying there. Do NOT do the tapas/flamenco experience-huge waste of money. Walking tour (Gaudi or Gothic) is good though Definitely a "quiet" hostel- lounge and kitchen close by a certain time and lobby area is very confined and small.

Unhappy that laundry services were not yet working and the charging outlets in our room were not working.

The hostel was really nice, new and clean. The showers and bathroom excellent. It was really well located from the gothic area. The only detail was that the plugs in the room didnt work so i needed to use the ones in the common area and there was a water issue in the kitchen roof.

I liked that the hostel staff give you fresh sheets - you know they're clean! The bathrooms could have been a bit cleaner and the power outlets weren't working in the dorm rooms for our entire stay which was a big inconvenience. The kitchen was really nice with new appliances and plenty of space.

Everything was wonderful. From the multinational staff to the rooms and common areas. It was very clean and safe. The rooms were great. Beds really comfy. I would stay there again and highly recommend it to anyone.

This hostel was awesome! I stayed here with a group of friends, and we had a mixed 8-bed dorm. Our roommates weren't the best bit other guests were really nice and friendly. The location is great, we walked almost everywhere, though I would recommend getting a metro 10-pass which you can share with friends.

The Black Swan was hands down one of the best hostels I've ever stayed at. It was beautiful, inexpensive, and very easy security to use to keep your stuff safe. Facilities are great too! If I ever went to Barcelona again I would stay there without a doubt!

Great hostel for this kind of money: clean, safe, great kitchen. It’s comfortable in general, except that there’re bathrooms only in the second floor, and if you are alone in the showers you might end up showering in the dark since there are motion sensors for the lights.

This is by far one of the best hostels I've stayed in! Very clean, friendly and helpful staff, great atmosphere, and very close to everything! Each bed comes with a private locker that has an outlet with a converter attached to it so you can charge your electronic devices with any kind of plug safely and securely in your locker while you're out exploring the city! Great place to meet new people and definitely quiet enough to get some good sleep! I recommend it 100%!

I was in a 10 bed female dorm and only lasted one night as it was just too noisy to get any sleep. The room was really cramped and noisy to move about in. The bathrooms areas are tiny, in the women's toilets you can't move between someone at the sink and the toilets stalls. The showers are cramped and dark. The kitchen and lounge are too small for the number of guests. So it's very new and clean but obviously designed to cram as many people into the place as possible, comfort be damned.

Very modern and clean but not a very social hostel. Common areas close early and alcohol is not allowed. Staff is very friendly and eager to help. Easily walkable to the city center. I would definitely go back.

The girls on the staff were very nice, but the man was very rude. Apparently there is a law in Barcelona that forbids drinking in a hostel- even if you are sitting on a couch barely talking. The guy sushed us several times when we were barely speaking. I guess if you want a quite place to sleep- this is your hostel. But if you are looking to meet new people and have a couple of drinks- stay somewhere else. The plus side, everything was very clean and lockers in the room were great.

We were threatened to be thrown out of the hostel for making noise with other guests in the hostel...we were playing card games and drinking till after 11pm and everyone was joining in but the member of staff on duty didn't act very professional, we felt like we were on a school trip with an angry teacher telling us off! Basically told us to get out. location was great and it's all very clean and modern! cheap too, plus free wifi is a bonus
