Kitchen was cramped and falling to bits. The rooms led straight into the social area meaning people were watching loud films till early hours and could be heard in rooms.

It is located in a very good location..3mins from ISITE. If i am going to a tour which is usually very early in the morning, it makes a huge difference. the room is cozy and comfy; and there is free coffee, tea and milk in the kitchen. everything u will find in a kitchen will find in there as well. there is a live band in a pub besides the hostel and they sing until midnight. buti can sleep almost everywhere as long as i have the earplugs and eyemask. so thats not a big deal for me~

Best hostel I've stayed in. The girls working there are really helpful and friendly, it's really clean, the rooms are spacious, we got a free upgrade to a 4 bed dorm rather than 8 (with one of the bottom bunks a double!), the kitchen has an oven, loads of free herbs, spices and other free food. Free unlimited WiFi big plus, great discounts on activities there too and if you're there on a Thursday the night market is right on the doorstep. 5-10 min walk to Pak 'n' Save. Brilliant, stay here!

Outstanding hostel! Stayed here 3 different times between treks because it was such a great place to stay. Best features - Super fast FREE WiFi without any data limits and $5 quick turn-around laundry done by the staff.

Very well placed hostel and good valur for money. On the other hand, rooms received sun all the day, which made them extremely hot. Mattresses are uncomfortable and there could be more bathroooms/showers for the amount of people in the hostel. Kitchen was disorganized and not very clean. Some rooms have doors directly to the TV room, noise can be an issue. Security is ok since hostel and room access is controled. If going by car, there are few free parking spots nearby, all in the street.

Nice big rooms, very clean, great staff. Only minus are the long stairs from the street (no elevator), but that's not a problem if you don't have too much luggage and don't have trouble walking them up. Otherwise in my experience one of the best hostels in NZ. You can't do your laundry by yourself but can give it to the staff to do for 5 dollars.

Friendly little hostel with a great homely atmosphere and an ideal location slap bang in the heart of Rotorua. The living room and kitchen are great to meet people, clean and with good facilities. The dorm rooms are spacious and the free wifi is great. Friendly staff also help make this a great place to stay in Rotorua.

Very, very good hostel in the heart of Rotorua city centre. Close to all major attractions, shops and bus stops. Staff were excellent; very helpful and ran a well-organised hostel. Everywhere was clean and tidy and new. Much better atmosphere here compared with other backpacker hostels I've stayed at in NZ, with all rooms branching off the main communal area which keeps everything very friendly. Would highly reccommend this place.

Really great hostel, friendly and welcoming staff, with a good hostel crowd. Comfortable beds and free wifi. Every night seemed to be a movie night, which I enjoyed as was trying to save cash. It's not really a party town, but if you were looking for a younger, rowdier crowd it might not be the best place. My favourite hostel in NZ due to the friendly atmosphere.

Was very clean and quiet at night. The linens supplied were clean and good quality. Excellent value. Only stayed one night, but would certainly stay longer another time.

It was great meeting young people from other parts of the world. Even though I did not have the opportunity to partake in the advertised actvivities such as white water rafting or visit to the Maori Village I liked the way they had transport to the activity included in the price. I hope to come back one day and do some of these things. One real plus about the location was that it was next to a pub where one could buy an inexpensive but nourishing dinner. Brenda Johnston

By far the BEST hostel I have stayed in. Lovely place, friendly staff and exceptionally clean. Stayed over the New Year but were lucky that despite being in the centre of town, there was no noise. Room was very large, own shower and sink, wardrobe with loads of hangers. All very impressive. The two Irish girls were friendly and helpful, as were the owners we met the next day. Tried to book in with them on our way back but fully booked-book early to avoid disappointment! Thanks guys!

The staff was friendly and helpful. The hostel is in a great location - a quick walk to bars and the lake. The hot springs are a bit farther, but not too far to walk. Tons of people were in the dining area at night, so definitely a social atmosphere. Dorm was quiet, but it did get a little musky, even with the window open. Overall a good place.
