On advertisement the location was said to be not too far from the center of the city and lake. It was actually a good 15 to 20 minutes walk at a quick pace downhill and close to unfeasible uphill, making it compulsory to use Tuk-Tuk to go around and almost impossible to come back to the hotel during the day for a rest. The balcony had only 2 very old plastic chairs and a small half broken table For similar comfort we paid half price everywhere else in Sri Lanka.

Decent place with A/C, but I liked McLeod better because it was cheaper and the owner was friendlier and more helpful. Room and food are more expensive than places nearby, but they do have WiFi. Clean rooms and good location. Can get rooms with private balcony.

The hostel was amazing! It was so clean and our room had a balcony with a great view! The guy that runs it is so helpful. He set us up with a great tour and a driver for a really good price. I would highly recommend this hostel to everyone!

Very enjoyable stay. Superb view of Kandy, nice food, cold beer. Would recommend. Just to note a tuk-tuk is a must due to the location but at only £1 or so it is not an issue.

We spent 3 nights. 1st day , came back with electricity switched off because our wet clothes from Holton Plains need to air. 2nd day , switched off everything, we got our electricity off again & informed staff, was told that some appliance may tripped off electricity but we were still outside the rooms since we came back in early evening. 3rd day electricity was off again and informed staff to have electricity on for specific room. Foods is very pricey. Roof covered restaurant & drying bedsheets

We were fortunate to have an upstairs room with a little balcony with an amazing view of kandy. the room was clean with very 70s decore although the bed a tad uncomfortable. Packing on our last day, i had the balcony door open and our things sprawled out, turned my back for one second and then a monkey appeared in the doorway eyeing off our things! so keep your door shut! Didn't see any staff besides at check in/out & no atmosphere but then kandy itself has more than enough to compensate.

Steven is extremely helpful. The inn is a little difficult to spot, owing both to its name and fame. However, the location is very very good! We were travelling slightly late at night and so could not find it all that easily. Perhaps placing sign boards along the hill would make it easier for guests.

The hostel had a great location (a short tuk-tuk ride from the city centre) and a great view. The room was large and clean and the food was very good. The waiters understood us well which was a change from the place we stayed before this. The owner was very flexible and helpful. He had tickets for the dancing and gave us lots of advice about places to visit. He also organised us a driver to take us up to the hills. He was best driver/guide we had on the trip so it was well worth it for us
