The noisiest hostel I've stayed in yet - it's right in the centre of the clubs and bars area and on a Saturday night do not expect to sleep. Was also told too unsafe to leave hostel and walk around.
Bluehouse, provided an overall great experience. If in Quito again, it'd be my choice to stay.
I had a great time here when I first arrived in Quito. The staff was very accommodation. As well as all the guests staying. A fun hostel with a great party atmosphere, yet you are still able to get a good nights sleep. The only downside if any is the lack of bathrooms. Of a morning it could be a waiting game. Other than that, if I was not heading off to a homestay then i would have loved to stay longer.
A backpackers hostel in the heart of touristy quito. Great common areas to meet people. Bathrooms were mostly clean but the showers were not particularly hot. Rooms have lockers. Fun atmosphere. I would definitely recommend blue house.
stayed only one night there, sunday- monday. on sunday you don't get beer in ecuador and so sunday nights are always rahter quiete. don't know it is under the week and on friday and saturday. it was absolutly okay. i think one shower had no warm water. breakfast is included!
Right next to the heart of Mariscol. Pretty decent breakfast and the staff were helpful. We were even able to keep our luggage there until 9pm the day of checkout. The con was that there weren't very many bathrooms, which meant a lot of waiting around 8am.
Good common areas for hanging out (2 TVs, pool table, a bunch of tables outside, etc). Breakfast is nothing fancy but fills you up for the morning (bread, bananas, yogurt, oatmeal). Good value for the price.

Great areas to chill out. Big breakfast which was tasty. Very helpful staff...calling taxis, advice on how to get to Columbia. Right in teh middle of loads of food places and not too far from transport systems.
The Blue House is an excellent choice if you're visiting Quito. Decent prices, fantastic location thats only a stone throw away from the center of La Mariscal (but also within walking distance -30 mins- of the Old Town), okay kitchen and good beds. The showers/bathrooms are spacious and with hot water, although they could have a few more of them. Staff was helpful even though we arrived at 3am without a booking! Already stayed here 3 times and would always come back!
Very friendly staff. Good breakfast. Only the hot water is kind of moody :)
Great location if you want to go out, surrounded by bars and stuff. The free breakfast is probably the best I've had at any hostel in South America. Free pool table available and staff and always willing to help. Quite an early check out though at 10am, especially considering check in isn't until 2pm.
We booked a room of 4 out of 6 mixed dorm and they upgrade us to a private room at no cost which was amazing because we were a group of girls. The staff was nice and very helpful, the location is good only couple blocks near the foch plaza but its noise at night due to all the local bars and nightlife can be a bit noise. If you're light sleeper bring ear plugs. I definitely recommend this if you're young and looking to party and have fun.
The location was great and hostel was very cool in general. Downside was they did not have many bathrooms. Breakfast was plentiful which was great.
