Very big common room and kitchen. Very nice staff and will tell you how to do the bushwalking. But the drom has the sign of the exit which is so bright in the night!

Staff were amazing and atmosphere was great. The great location in town was only let down by the noise of the street and the trains well into the night. Otherwise fantastic stay!

Hi Tate, So glad to hear we could help you during your stay at BMBH, being so close to everything does bring a little noise but we are so happy to hear that it wasn't too much of a bother and you had a 'fantastic stay''! We hope to see you again in the future! Regards, Ailie

Location is right next to the train station, which is nice. It's a very chill place, with a pretty big kitchen. Seemed very quiet, so don't expect a party. Decent pubs nearby though. Overall nothing to really complain about, but nothing to rave about either. Staff was very nice and helpful when I asked about hiking around the area.

Very good hostel near the station. Supermarket is just a few minutes walk. It is very very clean, but due to it's big size there is not much of an atmosphere there. However, kitchen and other facilities are very good so I still would recommend this hostel to everyone.

Hi there, We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay at BMBH and took advantage of our central location. Perhaps next time you stay the pool table and Foosball will be in full swing! Regards, Ailie

Not good value for money. We had a private room but perhaps customers should be advised when the entire hostel is booked out to a youth convention and to expect noise all night? The bed had no top sheet (just a doona cover) with a water proof covering on the mattress which was not comfortable to sleep on. I have stayed at other backpacker hostels and paid a similar amount for a private room ($115) and received much better value. The shower was luke warm. No tea and coffee making facilities.

Hi there Sue, We are sorry to hear that your experience at BMBH didn't match that of our other guests. A missing top sheet and a luke warm shower are curious mishaps but I'm sure the staff at reception were happy to fix that up for you. In regards to the tea and coffee making facilities because we are a hostel we encourage guests to make good use of our fully equipped communal kitchen. We hope we get a chance to make it up to you in the future! Regards, Ailie

Hi Lena, We are glad to hear you had a nice stay. Unfortunately we are unable to change the cold weather but we would definitely suggest a return visit here in summer. It is much warmer and various different things to do at different times of the year. We hope to see you again. Regards Vans

We had a great stay, the room was big and we had our own fridge in the room! The staff was really friendly and helpful and it was the perfect place to start the walk to the three sisters and the other highlights of the Blue Mountains. I highly recommend this hostel!

Obviously not a five star hotel but, having stayed in many hostels in Aus, this is one of the best. Little things like having your own locker, free internet and laundry make a huge difference when travelling on a budget.

Kitchen open at 7 is a bit late. Same counts for reception as we had to leave before getting key bond back

Hi, If you want to get in touch with the hostel, we can refund your key deposit onto your credit card. We have a 24 hour manager, so if you come back to Katoomba, you can call them at any time for help with key deposits or the kitchen. Have a great trip! Best, Francesca

Just had one night but were quite satisfied with the facilities and value. We had to leave very early so the kitchen was opened at 5am for us, cleaned and ready to use. Cooking equipment and utensils could have been a little better but were quite clean. We would return happily if we needed to.

Laundry is free (bring your own washing powder) but there are not many clothinglines if you have clothes which are not suitable for dryers.

The room looked clean although did not smell really good. there was an extra dooner in the cupboard but it smellt really bad! Apart from that, it's at the expected standard of a backpacker hostel at this price.
